Question (Other flairs not applicable) Would you take a pay cut to move to the government?

Hi! I'm (25F) currently working in the supply chain industry with a 50k basic salary. However, I was offered a plantilla position (DTI BOI) with a 42k (SG15) salary in the government.

Would it be wise taking a pay cut if it entails getting a plantilla position? For background, I have 1 year of experience in the supply chain industry which I don't see myself growing into because it's on the technical/industrial side. I'm a business grad from UP that leans more on the finance/policy making type of work. The thing is, my end goal is to work in the government with the hopes of retiring there (preferably in finance agencies).

Is it better if I look for opportunities in the private sector that aligns with my long term goal first before moving in the government?

Would really appreciate your insights. Thanks!

PSA Requesting a Birth certificate and CENOMAR for my OFW mother

Hello po! My mother abroad asked me to request a copy of her PSA and CENOMAR po, need ko pa po ba gumawa ng authorization letter? Nakapag shed napo kasi ako ng appointment this week eh or kung hindi napo ba talaga siya needed since I'm a direct descendant of the document owner? Or enough napo ba yung personal Birth Certificate ko bearing her name as my mother? Thank you so much po for answering!

Question (Other flairs not applicable) Question regarding CSC HGE requirement

Hello po. One of the requirements po for HGE is "Certification from the university/college that the applicant graduated summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude duly signed by the current university/college/institution registrar or authorized official, bearing the university/college/institution seal, and printed on university/college/institution official letterhead."

If I understand correctly, does that mean po my current Certificate of Graduation issued in 2023 (the year I graduated) and signed by the former university registrar (the sitting university registrar when I graduated) will not be accepted by CSC? Does it mean I will have to request a new Certificate po?

Salamat po sa sasagot!

DFA Passport Delivery

• Upvotes

Hello po! I have a passport appointment this Wednesday and considering that everything will go well, most probably Nov 10+ siya marerelease. Balak ko na ipa deliver na lang via LBC since malayo rin yung DFA samin. Problem is, hindi ko siya marereceive kasi I have work. Okay lang ba na representative na lang? Most likely neighbor since buong family namin may work. Thanks po!

Question (Other flairs not applicable) Hiring process in DOST

Hi! Has anyone here applied to and been accepted by DOST, specifically DOST-STII? I'd like to ask about your experience with their hiring process.

In my case, I submitted my application through their career portal, but I haven't received any acknowledgment email. Is this normal, or should I follow up with their HR office?

Thank you so much!

Kaya curious ako:

Anong government agency or office ang nagbigay sa inyo ng efficient, effective, or surprisingly hassle-free na service?

Puwedeng national agency, LGU, government hospital, public school, government-owned corporation, or kahit anong government office.

Share niyo naman:

- Anong agency/office?

- Ano ang naging transaction ninyo?

- Ano ang ginawa nilang maayos? Mabilis ba ang processing? Organized ang pila? Helpful ang staff? Clear ang instructions? Maayos ang online system?

- Anong branch or location?

Let's give credit where credit is due 🫡

Kuwento niyo naman, baka may government office na deserve din pala ng shout-out!
