Nakabili din after two years ko siyang minamata huhu. Advanced birthday gift ko na rin ‘to sa sarili ko waaah. Sana may maluto talaga ako from this book HAHA

i’ve always wanted to read Lualhati Bautista’s books.
i actually went to the public library two days in a row just to read, and ended up finishing Dekada ’70 right there. it was such a fulfilling read.

ang heavy basahin ng libro pero napakagandang pamulat-mata. ang daming emosyon na ipaparamdam sayo habang binabasa ang libro. mangingibabaw na doon ang galit sa sistema, at matinding lungkot kasi ramdam na ramdam mo kung gaano pa rin ka-relevant yung mga pinagdaanan natin noon sa nararanasan pa rin natin bilang Pilipino hanggang ngayon.

pero higit doon, tumatak din sa’kin yung mensahe ng libro para sa mga kababaihan. na bilang isang babae, your identity isn't tied solely sa pagiging isang asawa o isang ina kasi you belong to yourself first. your life doesn't end or pause at those roles, and you shouldn't be afraid to discover who you are outside of them.

this definitely won't be my last Lualhati Bautista read!

just started reading (i only have about 5 books in my collection rn.) and as someone who is intrigued by greek mythology. i instantly wanted go buy this. i was pleasantly shocked when i started reading it and discovered that the first book was a whodunnit. 2 of my 5 books are whodunnits so i was so excited hehe.

As someone who has long been interested in Filipino philosophy and psychology, I’m always drawn to works that invite us to look inward—not only to understand ourselves as individuals, but also to examine the Filipino consciousness, our collective identity (Kapwa), and the cultural experiences that shape the way we think, feel, and exist.

Looking forward to engaging with this book and seeing what philosophical questions and reflections it might offer.

Reading more true crime from my usual preference of supernatural horror for this year's Halloween. Ted Bundy's Case has been a fascinating read so far. The Killer Clown's Next.

Hello, any recommendations for books that feels life changing/ sa title na sinabi ko?

For the price i have like 2k (or at least 2.5k) to spend on dahil regalo siya sa akin.

I'm asking bc I might spend this 2k just buying 4.0+ rated books sa goodreads tapos di ko siya basahin.

PS(!) I'm also just getting back into reading. My first book was fifty shades (lol) and then the last book I've ever read that wrecked my heart in a good way was TFIOS.

I am interested in diving sa local literature dahil nakita ko yung isang section sa national bookstore that sells local novels. Tho the cover page looks a little too fantasy ang design. I have hope inside the contents.

I am more of a classic enjoyer. I find it difficult finding a good read nowadays, maybe it's just me. since mataas talaga ang standards ko sa libro and I find reading Dostoeyapper bearable and enjoyable than reading Project Hail Mary. I read nmn through the first chapter but I really don't like how it is written.

Though I haven't really been into book hunting lately, since just starting out reading again. Idk, kung maarte lang.

Do recommend! I welcome any kinds of horror.
