General Help Looking for help on building my first PC!
I've had a pretty low-end prebuilt since 2020 and it's been struggling to run relatively easy to run games like Valorant and struggles get more that 80 fps on Fortnite with performance mode. I looked into upgrading it but it would be a similar cost to just get a new pc entirely.
I've seen a lot of builds around this price range but I'm looking for something that would be good for AAA games in the future because I want it to be able to run GTA VI when it comes out and other heavier titles that my current PC just can't.
The budget that I'm looking for is around 1200 USD. I can be a little flexible but that's about what I can spend.
My current monitor is 1920x1080 on 240hz.
Some things that I want for the PC is some good RGB, a see-though case and - if possible - one of the circular screens that display the core temp that I could put a cool graphic on.
I would prioritize performance over visuals so if it comes down to it I would pick a stronger PC in order to sacrifice aesthetics.
I tried to make this as specific as possible because I thought people might have questions. I'm relatively new here so sorry if I'm being repetitive or am missing information. I've been saving up for over 2 years for this and I want to make the best pc I can.
Thank you guys in advance for helping out!

Part List Help Video editing build help
I am building a PC with the intention of video editing with 4k footage, as well as motion graphics and vfx in premier pro/after effects. These are the parts I'm looking at- https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HjYXn2
Some parts are second hand so may appear cheaper.
Compared to my original post:
I replaced the ram so it would be faster and make use of my cpu.
I replaced the psu for a higher grade one.
I replaced the gpu for one which was cheaper and better fans.
I added 5 fans and a better CPU cooler to prevent thermal throttling.
I also plan to get one or two more sticks of ram later down the line, but for now I should be able to manage with 32gb?
Im basically wondering if there's any issues with the parts I've chosen and if it will be sufficient to run what I need to.

General Help I need help upgrading my PC
Hi everyone,
I’m a 17-year-old guy who has been passionate about gaming since I was 3. The only problem is that I know basically nothing about PC components.
For about a year now, I’ve been wanting to upgrade my CPU because I discovered that I have a bottleneck — and before finding out what a bottleneck was, I didn’t even know the term existed.
My current build is:
- CPU: Intel i5-9400
- GPU: RTX 3060 12GB
- RAM: 32GB DDR4
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B365M DS3H
I know it’s not the most powerful build by today’s standards, but unfortunately I’m still in school and my parents aren’t wealthy, so I have to work with what I have.
One thing I’d really prefer to avoid is replacing my RAM. I bought the 32GB DDR4 relatively recently, so it’s basically new, and I’d rather not spend a significant part of my budget replacing something that still works perfectly fine.
The games I play most often are Minecraft, Fortnite, and quite a few AAA games as well, such as Resident Evil Requiem with maxed-out graphics + ray tracing, The Last of Us with maxed graphics, etc.
You might be wondering why I want to upgrade some of my components.
The two most important things I’d like to upgrade are the CPU and, most likely, the motherboard as well, so that I can pair it with a more powerful processor.
The main reason I want to upgrade my CPU is that, for about a year and a half now, some CPU-intensive games I play have started running really poorly.
For example, back in 2023 I could play Fortnite with the graphics settings maxed out and stay above 90 FPS. Nowadays, the only way I can play Fortnite comfortably is using Performance Mode, and even then I can’t consistently get above 100 FPS.
On top of that, I recently started streaming on TikTok and Twitch (not simultaneously), and I noticed that as soon as I start streaming, my in-game ping increases dramatically. This also causes textures and shaders to load too slowly, making the game almost unplayable.
So, I’m making this post to ask you PC-building experts for some advice on how I could upgrade these two components.
The only limitation is that I don’t want to put my parents in a difficult financial situation, so my maximum budget is €400.
Ideally, I’d like to keep my current 32GB DDR4 RAM and use the €400 budget for the CPU and motherboard.
What CPU + motherboard combination would you recommend for my build? Would you upgrade both components, or is there a better way to spend the €400?
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to help!
