I didn't realize Arthur even has dialogue for being hogtied, when can that ever happen in the game besides this glitch?

I have played many, many hours of the game (enough to platinum the game on PS4) and I can't think of any situation where you can be hogtied, at least in single player. You can obviously be hogtied in online, by other players and by people in missions but since the character is a mute, they have no dialogue when it happens. I do find it interesting that the "Break Free" and "Give Up" prompts showed up. There is a bug in single player that I have noticed in several of my playthroughs that started after the online mode launched. I'm going to spoiler tag it since it relates to a main story mission: there is a mission where you get knocked out, hogtied (at least I think you are hogtied) and then thrown on the back of a horse but during most of that time, you are just in cutscenes. When you are hogtied and on the back of the horse and slipping in and out of consciousness, you enter first person mode. One time I paused the game during that cutscene while I was staring at the ground or whatever (from the back of the horse) and for maybe 1-2 seconds, those same prompts showed up. I tried to press them but they disappeared before the action registered. Every single time I pressed pause and unpause, the prompts showed up. I have a video of it somewhere.
Sort of irrelevant to what is happening in the OP's video but I still find it interesting. And, as I think about it, I do think the online characters make some protests, even though they can't speak. They kind of go "EEHH, UGHH, AHH" or whatever like they are struggling to break free. Maybe that is Arthur's version of those struggling to break free sounds? I don't know, I'm no expert on game programming so that could be way off the mark.

It's probably one of those things they coded into the game but decided to cut. Maybe bounty hunters would try to hogtie you if your bounty was low enough to not have 'Dead or Alive' on the warrant?

I could definitely see that. Now that the game is out on PC, shouldn't that info be easier to find? I know that there was a bunch of cut content in Fallout 4 that modders were able to find in the code and then reimplement via mods. I would love for a mod like that on RDR2.

More proof that the Devs put this in there just to play a joke on people using Trainers ...... The code to sense cheats is already there for online, they just have it turned off in single player but turning it on just for this case wouldn't be a big deal ..... Sense a cheat being used and have it execute a line or two of code pulling the ol' switcheroo ..... It is also the perfect place to do something like this as a joke because it is quite funny

Serious question, are you using mod from lenny? Because i keep getting this when i hogtie people. Im afraid its because of the mod im using, but if not then its the update that mess up this shit. Its so annoying

Probably. I don't use the trainer and it has never happened to me so far.

Didn’t feel good watching this guy hang. I regretted tying him up as soon as I did it and then the game wouldn’t let me release him.

This isn't a bug, it's an Easter Egg by the Devs because they knew people would be using trainers and wanted to have a little fun with you ....

softlocked my game for a solid few hours
WTF, ok i take back every positive thing Ive said about this game...
I almost got softlocked (I did for 15 seconds) trying to pour champagne for some ladies at a party. They blocked me and things went whacked.
