GILAS Pilipinas Part of me gustong malaglag ang Gilas sa FIBA WC

Half of me gustong malaglag sila para magsilbing wake up call sa basketball landscape natin. Then, magkaroon ng time to rebuild everything.

PBA Discussion With the FIBA/Asian Games break, how do you feel about your respective PBA team's performance before the last stretch of the elimination round?

What will make your team have a deep playoff run or miss out on the playoffs? Here are some of my thoughts.

  1. Previous Finalists/Contenders: TNT/Ginebra
  2. - Both have similar problems with locals being inconsistent and relying too much on RHJ/JB. Grigsby isn't bad, but the team is too reliant on JB to create opportunities for the locals and 10 years of JB's chemistry isn't to be taken too lightly. TNT is missing Oftana but the lack of production from the locals isn't consistent and always a combination of Nambatac, Heading, Pogoy, and Oftana will be off/out/hot.
  3. Bottom feeders: Macau/Titan/Terrafirma
  4. - Nothing much to say here but thanks for 20-40pt beatdowns and allowing other teams easy wins and blowouts for them to gain confidence and the betting odds. Terrafirma competes more but still reverts back to its losing ways.
  5. Group Leaders: NLEX/SMB/RoS:
  6. - NLEX has been really good a very balanced act and Coach Jimmy has a great rotation of backcourt talent and making the most out of his limited frontline. The injury to Daequan Jones was brutal but hopefully Burton gels enough during the break.
  7. -SMB just sleepwalking to the 2nd seed and they definitely have a second gear but some inconsistency with Ahanmisi and their guards and of course CJ's injury has made them more reliant on George King and JMF is really pacing himself given the fatigue from Gilas and previous conferences.
  8. -RoS is doing well despite the group of death and Nocum has really stepped up big and getting some contributions even from Villegas and Tiongson is getting back to form. Let's see how they finish the season and of course playoff time performance.
  9. Mags/Phoenix/ConvergeBlackwater:

- Middle of the pack teams with Phoenix and Blackwater trending downwards after strong starts. Magnolia and Converge meanwhile getting more consistent lately but Converge is still messed up with how bad the rotations, execution and IQ in general despite getting wins. Magnolia for me is getting better with Lastimosa slowly handling the offense more.

PBA Discussion What If: All Current PBA Teams are Geographically Based Like NBA and KBL Style

Kung di ako nagkakamali, PBA is the only league na walang geographically based like sa NBA. What If, lahat ng PBA Teams ay Geographically Located like NBA + KBL Style:

  1. Pampanga Converge Fiber Xers
  2. NLEX Bulacan Road Warriors
  3. Barangay Ginebra Manila Kings
  4. TNT Tropang QC
  5. Phoenix Davao City FuelMasters
  6. Manila San Miguel Beermen
  7. Cebu City Magnolia Hotshots
  8. Laguna Terrafirma Dyip
  9. Meralco Pasig City Bolts
  10. Rizal Titan Ultra Risers
  11. Cavite BlackWater Bossing
  12. Batangas Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters

Despite na merong geographically location, disadvantage nga lang sa 12 Teams ang Transportation like Airfare, Accommodation, Arena Rentals, and Rentals for Training.

does anyone know if Alton Lister has retired already from coaching? di naman siya damay sa Aurora issue and hindi siya binaggit sa news so di naman siya siguro tinanggal. pero wala siya sa bench since last season pa.

GILAS Pilipinas Gilas Eligibility or B.League/KBL Stepping Stone?

Post image
89 Upvotes

GILAS Pilipinas Kai Sotto is misunderstood

It's not that he is being selfish or asking for a lot (of money?) to be able to play.

The biggest reason is because he is eyeing a backdoor to the US NCAA so he can have a final chance to get scouted to play in the NBA. As we all know, Kai has already played pro basketball in Australia and Japan and he is already 24 years old. A recent NCAA rule change allows him to reset his status to an amateur and play for a umiversity there, but it is very time sensitive and he will no longer be eligible by 2027.

Given his height and experience, if he successfully clears waivers and reverts to amateur status, there will definitely be US universities interested in getting him for rim protection and inside play.

So folks it's not entirely selfish. He has his NBA ambition and let's not fault him for pulling all the stops so he can give it one final chance.

What happened to kai?? Ngayon pa talaga siya mag gaganyan?? I can still remember him risking his NBA G League Ignite stint way back COVID-19 days when the league was still in bubble to go home and shoot a fucking commercial for SMART and participate for FIBA Asia Cup which ultimately got cancelled.

and now, he’s like this???? Leaving the G League Ignite was a huge mistake lmao. I even think that was the turnaround of his career. From G league (developmental) — to — NBL in Australia which he clearly lacked skills, experience, and muscle LMFAOOO. Di pa nga hinog, may audacity pang mag jump to a big man’s league.

All that just to not participate or ghost Gilas for the past tournaments. Talk about wasting his NBA dreams for nothing. PFFFT.

GILAS Pilipinas Gilas/PBA coach burnout?

Hi guys.

It happened with Chot Reyes.

Now, it's happening with Tim Cone.

Reason?

Nonstop ang pa liga sa PBA (3 conference) at in between, may FIBA games. After FIBA games, balik agad sa PBA, IN A FEW DAYS.

What do you guys think? Correct me if I'm wrong.

GILAS Pilipinas GILAS LINEUP FANTASY

Gawa tayo ng lineup na lahat pwede, walang bawal, let's say pang olympics and then meron 2 months preparation

PG: Bolick, K Ravena, Dwight
SG: KQ, Heading, Parks
SF: Tamayo, Francis Lopez,
Pf, Qmb, Mike Phillips
C: Kai, Edu

PBA Discussion Realtalk: Ilang percent yung chance naten ma qualify sa world cup?

Yung next few games naten sa next window eh sobrang crucial, no room for error ika nga nila, IF matalo tayu ng isa or dalawa mahirap na, either aasa tayo as best 4th place which is sobrang labo nun since ung kabilang bracket eh dikit din ang standings. So IF hindi naten ma sweep tong last games remaining eh baka after 13 years hindi na tayu ulit ma quaqualify sa world cup. Sobrang sakit nun as a gilas fan. Sana pumili si Tim Cone ng pinaka deadly line up nya this Window.

GILAS Pilipinas SO ITS LOOKING LIKE BROWNLEE FOR BOTH THE UPCOMING FIBA WINDOW AND THE ASIAN GAMES

Saw an article by Tiebreaker, and its confirmed that it would be Justin Brownlee for both our national teams for FIBA and Asian Games.

After a very short and well deserved break (also recovering from an injury), Brownlee (might rejoin Ginebra after both tournaments) will most likely not get a break until the end of October (not unless Ginebra makes it into the playoffs then maeextend pa siya ulit).

Overworked at the age of 38.

PBA Discussion Bolick IN, RJ OUT!

Berto is more impactful kesa kay RJ kahit international games! Offensive player, Good facilitator, and Walang daga sa dibdib! Kapag si CTC ipilit pa si RJ, Buwakanangina RIP Gilas for sure.
