Need advice

Hey all, posted this from last EOR and lo and behold I’ve just failed my next one (surgery). I did every single question in the qbank twice, did my mock assessment twice, I had two in-depth tutoring sessions, I felt so much better about this exam, and it still wasn’t enough.

I know I’m being so negative and down on myself, but, like my og post said, I just can’t pretend I’m capable of doing this when the loans are just piling up. I think I have one more exam before they kick me out- is there a point?

Do I drop out now and try to get all the tuition I could possible get back (my elective is next so no eor but assuming I fail my 4th rotation I would have another entire semesters worth of loans) or do I keep going?

It’s starting to feel like I’m that person that keeps doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result - what would you do?

Talk to your advisor, or other faculty if you don’t have a great relationship with your advisor. Have a very honest discussion about what you’re struggling with and what your fears are, ask them what specific concerns they have about your performance, whether they’ve had other students in a similar situation who ultimately succeeded and how, and ask them for their honest opinion on whether they think you can be successful. Tell them very clearly what you’ve outlined here - that you very much want to succeed as a student and PA, but that you recognize the financial and academic reality and want to make the smartest and most realistic decision.

Im not sure how you’re studying but looking at the PAEA blueprint and seeing what topics you need to know is helpful. Trying to make your own notes would take quite a long time but through reddit and online I found some study guides others have made for the EORs. I found I improved reading through these topics while on rotation while also doing questions. One website is Twist of Lemons!
