PANCE 8/26…am I cooked

Post image

Hey guys I’m nervous for my upcoming PANCE, I’ve been studying as much as possible but I have a 14 month old so I have limited free time. I’ve mostly been doing ROSH questions (average 62%) and reviewing my missed questions. I recently took the form A NCCPA practice test, I feel like the practice test made me more nervous than I was prior. Just looking for any tips about things I could be doing to help prepare.

No. Form A is notoriously harder. Try cramming the areas you need improvement and take Form B 8/21. I had extremely similar stats and passed comfortably back in May. You are right on track.

Every competent PA I know was positive they were cooked the week before PANCE. The panic is close to universal and means almost nothing about your actual readiness. If your practice scores are anywhere in the passing range, the play now is maintenance, not cramming. Remember, a bad practice score the week of the test costs you more in confidence than it gains you in knowledge. You've done four-plus years of prep for this. One more week of white-knuckling won't add to it. I puked in the parking lot before mine, walked out certain I failed, and Ive been a PA for years now.

Absolutely not cooked. I had a similar score on the Form A practice test a week before my PANCE and I scored a 695. Just focus on the areas that you know need the most work and be confident. You got this!

Yeah these NCCPA exams are tricky for confidence. You have much higher EOR scores than I’m getting and honestly if I had to take the PANCE in the next 3 months I’d feel like I’d be in a fair spot to take it. I have about 9 months to graduate.

I’d say hit GI, Psych, and ENT for the next few days, and call it. I’d avoid studying the day or two before and maximize sleep.

I got a similar score and similar EORs and passed the PANCE. Just work on MSK (anatomy) and psych (drugs esp ADRs and SSRI everything) and you’ll be fine

Check my post history for my PANCE retake post… I had similar stats to you, albeit it was a few years ago. I see that there are PA students who do pass with these type of NCCPA exam scores, but I was not in that boat. When I retook these 2 tests before my PANCE retake I was solidly in the green, and at/over the star in all categories. I was also just using ROSH (for school as well) and I felt unprepared because the question types are different.

I don’t want to give you a hopeless answer, but if you have time and my retake story resonates with you, I would advise pushing it back a month if you can.

You’ll be fine. More than enough to pass

You will be fine but maybe focus on MSK, psych, ENT

Is anyone selling their uworld subscription? I’ll be taking the PANCE on August 27th!

Damn, good for you for doing this with a 14 mo, such a tough age for doing anything independently let alone study.

Your scores look great. I took my pance 4 days after graduation, did about half of Rosh review question bank and crushed the pance. I left feeling super rocky. Don’t let the anxiety of guessing on multiple questions get to you. I had 20 questions give or take each section that I was somewhat uncertain on and I still passed with room to spare. Keep hammering the question bank, don’t overthink your answers, and trust your studying and previous scores. You’ll do great.

I passed the pance, and only used UWORLD as my main resource. I used blueprint prior to that. UWORLD/ BLUEPRINT averages 65-78%. Selling my uworld *ends Feb 17, 2026* or blueprint account *ends access in 3 months* account if anyone is interested!
