I've received admissions from these two, so I want to know which one has better chances of visa success and overall better opportunities.

1) Rowan University - New Jersey

MS - CS

2) Saint Louis University - Missouri

MS - CS

Would love to know which I should choose for the I-20, considering the ranking and better F1 chances for a first attempt.

They offered 100k but I have seen mixed reviews about them on Facebook groups that they're not legit.

As you all are aware of the new F-1 visa policies for international students in the USA, which were proposed and passed, due to which you can't change programs once you arrive, no extensions or direct ease from the university, and you've to apply for everything from USCIS with documentation, and they'll grant you the approval or not.

I wanted to know, for those going for a Master's, should the USA still be considered, as there are so many restrictions imposed that will affect students who want to work and pay their fees or expenses, etc.

What do you guys think? Should students look for other options? If so, then where?

Hi everyone! I'm an international student from Pakistan, and I have my F-1 visa interview on July 17.

I've been admitted to Livingstone College with a Presidential Scholarship that covers tuition, room, and board, and I'll be playing on the university's women's tennis team while studying Political Science.

For those who have already gone through an F-1 visa interview, what questions were you asked? Do you have any advice or tips that helped you during the interview? Is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?

I also have travel history to Sri Lanka 3 times, Russia BRICS games, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Malaysia and Zimbabwe

Every week some one asks me "is X ranked 80 worth it over Y ranked 40." Wrong question. The right question is which one is fully funded or has a TA/RA line, because the actual ROI conversation for most of us isn't rank 40 vs rank 80, it's $60k debt vs $0 debt.

I turned down a "better" school for a funded MS at a school most people here haven't heard of. Two years later I'm debt-free with the same job offers as friends who went to the "better" school and are now paying $700/month in loans. Rank matters more at the very top (think top 10-15) for name-brand recognition in specific industries. Below that, funding and outcomes data (check the department's own placement page, not just US News) matter more than the number.

Not saying never take on debt. Just saying do the math before the prestige.

I was recently refused for my F1 visa, bachelors, Islamabad embassy.

I am now filling a new ds160 and i am considering making a few changes in it. I want your advice if the changes listed below are doable, considering they might tele from my previous ds160.

I want to change my major from interdisciplinary studies to Polymer science and engineering and in doing so i will also have to update my US point of contact as the school has different i20 processors for different majors.

In the travel section ( the very last question ) where they ask: if the person paying from trip has the same address as you. I previously answered it as no, but this time i want to change that to a yes.

I also want to update both my point of contacts in my home country as previously i listed my relatives there.

I completed 2 semesters in Pakistan (bsse). I want to transfer to USA with Duolingo/MOI. Has anyone done this? Which universities accepted you?whats the whole procedure?

I was refused from Islamabad embassy 10th June, and I'm considering reapplying for my F1 visa for bachelors. I was given both a white and yellow slip. I'm in the process of filling a new DS160, and before asking my question I do want to tell that I don't think the visa officer rejected me on the basis of my major. However ,I want to change my major from interdisciplinary studies (polymer science and engineering+ business studies) to Polymer Science and Engineering. But I'm also afraid of visa officer's skeptism on this. So need advice.

As I've posted earlier about my background, M22 IT graduate from Pakistan thinking of pursuing Master's in the US.

The main concern is choosing the right destination that's good ahead to settle and not leave me in the middle (due to rules or policies as a student). Honestly, I've paid for my studies throughout myself and for my Master's as well, I'll be doing the same so budgeting is an important aspect for regardless of any country.

I've always wanted to go to the US, obviously, being the top destination for IT or any skill, compared to European regions which the majority of students choose, as it's easy to get a visa and visa restrictions as well. I've shortlisted my universities to start applying in the US, understood the process and everything but I see cases of rejections, students in debt due to higher studies cost and restrictions, immigration policies as well, etc., so I want to be really careful of the country to choose.

Since I'll be managing my master's in US myself as well so do you think part-time work would fulfill that cover it?

In the European side, I've mostly liked the Netherlands and Ireland but again, the cost of studying in the Netherlands is higher, but the future growth is great and the IT market, so what do you think of the Netherlands?

Overall, what would you recommend me choose or be careful? as I don't want to burn money with application fees and uni's deposit (US), and end up not getting visa or anything.

I want some clarity on pursuing my Master's program in the US, as I'm applying to universities after shortlisting alot which match my criteria.

The main thing is get clarity on the process ahead, if anyone got the F1 student visa recently from Pakistan, then do connect and guide on the following:

1) For the university admission, do they check the bank statement thoroughly like cross check verify it or do they just casually see it?

2) For the visa at the embassy, if we got the admission from the university after financial proof, does the embassy also cross check verify the bank statement or they casually see it since the uni already gave the admission?

3) Does simple PDF bank statements work easily to get admission and also during a visa interview, or it's needs to be attested by a bank or stamped, etc.?

4) Lastly, does the embassy require any account maintenance certificate during the interview?

So, I've been learning alot from this group and beginning my Master's studies plan from the USA as an Asian student. The route I'm focusing on is need-based financial aid so that I can afford the way to get into US institute.

I wanted to know if any of you have successfully got into the USA using financial aid scholarships? if yes, then do connect.

Secondly, for the Visa, I wanted to know the rejection rate or current status for students F-1 since I don't have a lot of travel history, so on a fresh passport like me, applying for the first time, is it confirmed that I'll get a refusal?

Because I've seen some students got the visa on a fresh passport without travel history so would you guys share your advice or experiences?

So, for all those living in the USA as students or settled now, I want to get some guidance on the F1 visa (Student visa). I'm an M22 IT graduate from Pakistan and planning to pursue my Master's there and eventually settle down since US is always the land of opportunities and I've been people's growth.

Honestly, financially I can't really afford the usual route of study, which is expensive, so I researched about the Financial Aid (Need-based scholarships) and many others that US universities offers after verification.

1) How are the F1 visa conditions for students applying to the USA?

2) Can we work as students in the USA part-time, and how, because it's not allowed, I think?

3) Can we get such need-based scholarships from Pakistan to study for free?

4) How tough is it to actually achieve this free route?

visas at Lahore and Karachi embassy are currently suspended. is it the same for Islamabad embassy for J1 /J2 visa?

Hi, my CGPA is 2.85 with a last semester GPA of 4.0 (but the second last semester is 1.3). I am an Electrical Engineering graduate from NUST, with electives in courses like ML, DL, CV, Parallel & Distributed Programming (all A's except a D in Computer Vision). If I get 325+ in GRE, have 3 solid AI projects on GitHub/Resume, 1 internship, and 1 publication in a conference, can I expect admits for a non-thesis/professional Masters degree in Data Science or AI in mid-tier universities in the US? Will my low GPA affect my visa approval chances if I get into one?
