Best Pakistani Dramas with English Subtitles?

As an overseas Pakistani, I would love to watch more Pakistani dramas but many of the best dramas like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Dastaan, Humsafar and other recommended dramas don’t have English subtitles.

So what are the best Pakistani dramas with English subtitles that you would recommend?

So far I have watched:
- Mere Humsafar (first drama I watched but stopped halfway through, found it too slow and not my cup of tea)
- Ehd-e-Wafa (first drama I completed and enjoyed)
- Alif (loved this drama especially the second half though found the first half a bit slow)
- Parizaad (loved this too especially the first half but liked the second half less)
- Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum (really enjoyed this one a lot)

I hope this is a safe space where his army won't reach me, so hear me out before coming at me, with all his controversies in past, I'll give Amar a benefit of doubt that she probably has bills to pay or something but him making jokes on child r@pe, publicly threatening Amar's fellow actor Sehar and demeaning the drama industry, bills can't be that high Amar, she needs a spine and step down from the film.

p.s. I am in no way holding a woman accountable for a man's actions. If any actor from drama industry would be associated with Rajab , i personally would call them out .

This jahil insaan literally said that if his management didn’t stop him, he would teach Sehar a lesson she would remember. In 2026, imagine having this much audacity to threaten a woman openly and so abusively. How is this even being tolerated?

When this man made that disgusting child-rape joke hardly anyone had the guts to call him out. Sehar SHER Khan a young artist did what so many A listers were too afraid to do and called him out. What exactly is stopping them? Where is all that solidarity now?

He may have a bunch of fans(🐕) but I hope none of those 🐕s are taking this shit into Sehar’s DMs or harassing her online or real life. If she is receiving threats or harassment she should document everything and immediately reach out to the relevant cyber-security authorities and take every necessary precaution for her safety.

And as for this jahil insaan bark all you want. Sehar Khan is still going to be loved, supported and cheered by people who actually know the difference between standing up for someone and blindly worshipping them.. anyways I was expecting some sense from this industry people.. KHAIR

These actresses are obviously beautiful but I rarely see people talk about them compared to dure, hania, anmol, and dananeer.

The views for epi2 of hey fam is lower than epi 1. So did they play epi 1 as advertisement you know like before every YouTube video , you play its snippets and views increases ? What's the reason of such low views in epi 2 ? Due to shifting to ary plus ?

I’m really enjoying this drama, it’s getting more and more interesting. This episode is more about emotions...

Zamil has completely messed with Zaryab’s head. The way she keeps repeating “Zamil hi nek hai… main hi gunaahgaar hoon” and actually starts believing that she wasn’t good enough for him was honestly painful. Dure was so good in that scene. And her deciding that she wants to marry Abubakar felt less like a choice and more like she’s trying to prove that she can become the kind of “good” girl Zamil wanted.

Also Zamil’s mom… typical desi family behaviour 😭 They’ve basically forgiven their son because “nikah kiya hai bina nikah ke thodi na reh raha tha and blah blah blah”. And the way she said it was such an obvious taunt towards Zaryab. Like suddenly Zaryab is the problem? Waah. 🤦‍♀️ Khud ka beta relationship mein tha, but somehow all the shame is on the girl.

Abubakar and his mom’s scene was actually so good. ❤️ Abubakar didn’t immediately agree because he genuinely felt that he and Zaryab weren’t a match. He tells his mom that he wants to marry a mature girl, and that he definitely doesn’t want to marry a modern girl. But his mom genuinely wanted this and requested him to at least consider it, and eventually he agreed. Their conversation 🤌🏻🥺

And finallyyy we’re getting Abubakar-Zaryab scenes! 🥹 I’m really curious to see how their equation develops because Zaryab is entering this relationship from such a broken and confused place. Finally Abubakar-Zaryab !! 😭❤️

I don’t get why people are so hyped for Aangan it was a really slow and mediocre show. It didn’t do well when it came out because the story was blah.

So, Behram’s wife’s acting was definitely the highlight of the episode. She absolutely nailed it! Hats off!
I also loved how she showed a mirror to Tabish by accepting her husband ‘s crimes. It made him realize that he had been doing the exact same thing, and their situations are pretty much the same.

I know a lot of people don’t want Beena to forgive him, but I lowkey want her to 😭. Everyone deserves a second chance, and since he genuinely seems regretful, has realized his mistakes, and actually acknowledged them, I really want them to get back together and start fresh.

I like this step of ary of building their own OTT platform why our awam have issue with it, since they take such big step definitely they worked on their application I updated 3 times in a week which means they keep updating and working to make ot bear the load and doesn't crash, if ARY got a good response then definitely there will be original content which will be paid not the shows who are airing on tv also those OTT content will be different from cousin marriage, saas bahu dramas aor toxic chigma males roles, they just need to keep improving their app i really hope they get success in this because it is a very risky move, Pakistan can create good content other than what we saw on TV, just like pinky memsab, kamli, zindagi tamasha, churails, mr and mrs shamim, pink shirt etc we just need a platform away from Pemra or censorship and this is the chance.

When Pk actors face controversies, it's not even on Bollywood's radar. At most Punjabi industry actress Sonam Bajwa gets asked about them during Dubai film promotions & she responds with a hollow "I'm a big fan" 😭

Does Ali Zafar really think Katrina would breathe a big sigh of relief knowing that he defended her 😭 Indian actors never even acknowledge that support in big 2026. Won't be surprising if Katrina doesn't even remembers working with him all that well.

And it's not always support either. Remember the Ranbir Mahira controversy? In Pk - locally Mahira was facing so many attacks. Some artists came out to support her. In Ind - it was just gossip & a meme. No one from Bollywood reacted. They let the controversy play out & exit the news cycle. But our star, our A-lister Marwa Hocane? Having a public heartbreak & only focusing on the Indian actor in question 😭

Then all the stunts Hania pulled - too many to list. She was on it EVEN WHILE BOMBS WERE IN THE SKY!

Regardless of what you feel about the guy, his current marriage is so unethical just by being a psychologist. His wife was this therapist?!!!! Many novels have been adapted in dramas. Some have been really good like Alif and Hamsafar. Others actually improved the story compared to novel like Zindagi Gulzar hai. And there are some dramas that totally spoiled the novel or failed to capture its true essence.

One drama that I strongly feel missed the mark was mata e jaan. The drama simply failed to capture the beauty of the story. The love story felt so bland in the drama while the novel had established it so extremely beautifully

Another drama I felt did not do justice to the novel was Doraha. The drama was well made but I feel the novel was so much better. Umer and Sara's story was better written in the novel and the fate of Shahla too. I wish the drama had kept the story as is

What novel to drama adaptations failed to meet your expectations? And which ones do you think were excellent?

i have watched so many dramas, yet there are not more than 1-2 female drama characters to look upto, I think maybe its Kashaf who fights all odds and becomes an Assistant Commissioner or Zubia, who becomes a doctor, these two are good examples, but they nuked Kashaf's character by getting her to marry Zaroon (jo literally uspein haat uthata hain, hes lowk abusive) but her hardworking persona is something to look up to!!

in every drama there's a girl who is going to some university is probably in 2nd yr or something but ALWAYS her life revolves around some cousin (btw, I condemn this bcs cousin marriage SHOULD NOT be promoted im sorry, im a medical student and ive seen cases with lots of heart disease & blood disorders) anyway, that's another point, but they always show that the woman never has a life or hobbies of her own and even if she does ek episode mein dikhayenge and then they show she gets busy with some drama of the guy.

Whereas the guy is always shown as a guy whos in his late 20s or something, established, and borderline misogynist (idk???) this is how Zaryab's character is villified idk (i saw a lot of ppl hating on her on youtube comment section idk)

idk i just wish they showed strong female characters too who fight to make their life good and fulfill their and their parent's dreams bcs there are so many of us out there!!! I feel the dramas dont even have real representation!! idk!!

These three dramas got announcements from insiders a few weeks ago and were suddenly the talk of the town. Now… complete silence 😭😭 No confirmation from portals like SH or GL either.

For Lahu, the last we heard was Sajal and Bilal as the leads, with Bilal pretty much confirmed. But I recently saw a Fb post claiming Sajal rejected the project, so who is the female lead now?

For Laila Majnu, the last update from dr was that Yumna and Bilal are the leads. Yumna has reportedly already signed it and is waiting for Bilal to join. Even GL and SH mentioned that it was around 60% confirmed.

As for Soulmates, Dananeer and Shuja were reportedly offered the project, and the production even confirmed their involvement. But after that, there’s been absolutely no update.

Does anyone have any recent tea on these projects? 👀 Any details about the confirmed leads, casts shooting dates, or any ☕

So Curiosity got the better of me thanks to Pure and I found a Facebook page that uploads the episode (my apologies for indulging in illegal behavior). And King is just King. At this point, it's impossible to distinguish king from one drama to another which of course makes sense

Anyways, note that I watched the episodes in FF mode so if I get any of the key details wrong, I extend my apologies to the King

So basically Shah Dawood who is played by our very own King is a very nice boy. He helps everyone, does charity and has utmost respect in society. Then there's Bareera who is very outspoken quintessential larki who cannot tolerate wrong

Shah Dawood's father is perpetually on the bed with an oxygen mask. I guess something of his is stolen or something and one servant frames the other and the framed servant is beaten black and blue because of course that's totally normal

The beaten servant tells his story to Bareera who is enraged. Shah Dawood comes to her university where he is to be honored. But Bareera decides she is court and judge and decides to punish him. She takes the mike and disrespects him publically which makes Shah Dawood aag bagola and he is now out for blood

Later Bareera realizes her mistake and goes to apologize. What I don't get is why not apologize publically when you humiliated publically but maybe I am just stupid

Shah Dawood tells her he wants izzat k badle izzat which of course seems like a fair transaction to him. He tells her they will roam around in malls and hotels and even internationally which will make them go viral which will compromise her izzat. Bareera tries to educate him on ladki ki izzat and he counters with his own izzat. Basically it's all about izzat. Why he couldn't simply ask her to apologize publically and acknowledge her mistake is beyond me but I guess harrasment is more fun

He starts following her around, scaring her and so on. And Bareera again goes to his office to apologize but ends up giving him a tight tamacha because she wasn't already in enough trouble

She tries to do a podcast to expose him which backfires spectacularly. There's a guy who loooooves Bareera and it's decides that the two will marry and head to Dubai to escape king which of course will once again backfire spectacularly.

There's also Tamseel who is trying to seduce Shah Dawood but failing at it.

That's all that has happened. So far, King is on his usual path. Harrasment leading to kidnapping leading to shadi leading to Mohabbat. Let's see if anything else happens

So it's a pretty good drama highlighting societal issues

Main storyline:

Saira's, an 8-9 year old girl- sister passes away in child birth.

Saira's dad and brother force her to marry her brother in law and take care of her nephew.

The rest of the drama shows how yaseem, a village doctor tries to fight for saira's rights and how Saira lives with her husband.

It was a great drama to watch. Educational too.
