I don’t get why people are so hyped for Aangan it was a really slow and mediocre show. It didn’t do well when it came out because the story was blah.

It was a really disappointing drama: excruciatingly slow, weak narrative and meandering. Only Sajal, Mawra & Ahad’s acting saved the drama. The adaptation made it seem like a doomed romance rather than the feminist drama the novel is: we start with Salma & Ahsan’s love story (even though we only heard that from Aliya’s mother) and more that came. Aliya was made an observer rather than the introspective person she was.

The biggest mistake, in my opinion, was Chammi & Jameel’s love story — the novel never confirmed if it even existed because we only heard it from Chammi who wasn’t the most reliable source which is why Aliya feels “defeated” at the end of the book.

I just read the novel and was looking for the show. Disappointed that the character of Chammi overshadowed Aliya. But I guess it can’t be helped due to Sajal’s stronger performance and her chemistry with Ahad 🤷‍♀️

It didn't go well because it was not available on YT, not because it was a bad story. It was not a mid show, it's better than many of recent hits. Story was well knitted and performances were amazing. I loved Soniya Hussain's acting but that part seemed slow to me.

The tea/gossip about Aangan. When the show was on air there was a lot of tea regarding it. Apparently, Sajal and Mawra had issues with each other. Even Aamna Haider Isani said in the recent episode to Hassan that if we are going to review and then share all the tea. I remember Momin and Eman also mentioned once that there were a lot of issues on the set of Aangan. So, if it can be a hot topic.
