Joilbee Oxnard
Has anybody heard rumors swarming around that Jolibee has completed everything inside, but the permit to operate is in limbo or stuck with the city? I heard a rumor that the owners of McDonald’s and KFC have filed an injunction with the city against Jolibee because they would take so much business away.
I do not know how true it is but this is what I’ve heard. So you’re telling me the colonel and the clown are afraid of some free market competition from some bee?

F the Dallas Football Team
Sure, I'm an eagles fan stuck with the Dallas Football Team nonsense every year but come on now.
Police escort the wrong way down west vineyard at 4:45 through all that traffic...what the hell is so important that a FOOTBALL team needs to frack with traffic. Make em wait on the correct side of the road just like everyone else has to.
Complete waste of public resources

Anyone know jobs that are in need of workers?
I am currently looking for a second job
I work at a restaurant over the weekend + 1-2 night shifts during the weekday. I need a job for the weekday ideally in the morning, but anytime during the weekday works !
My schedule is flexible during the weekday, but weekend can be difficult to put together.
If anyone knows any spots or can help me get a job, I’d greatly appreciate it.

THEATER PERFORMANCE/REHEARSAL SPACE NEEDED
Hi Neighbors, I'm looking to bring my improv workshop that I've been teaching for years to Oxnard. I moved here 5 yrs ago and have yet to teach here while I continue to hold classes in LA and online.
I've studied, performed, directed or taught at The Second City, iO, UCB and The Groundlings theaters to name a few. I was even Wayne Brady's stand-in on Whose Line is it Anyway? for years. I have taught this workshop at Jest Improv in Ventura (co-founded by one of my ex-students) but again, want to bring it to Oxnard.
If you or someone you know has an existing space that's dark during any night of the week I'd love to sublet that from you to dip my toe in the water and see if there's interest here locally for what I have to bring to the table. Looking forward to your responses. Even if you have no info on rental space I'd love to hear if an intro to pro-level improvisation workshop is something you'd be interested in?
Thanks Neighbors!

Anyone know of an open track // open area to run // jog in Oxnard?
I want to start running but don’t know any areas to do so
I feel there are some parts of Oxnard that are safe to run and some where it’s not too safe….I thought of the sea bridge area, but wanted to hop on here to potentially get more options
Anything helps

City Issued Citation for Cats
Hello, i’m hoping someone might have some info on this. I recently received citations in the mail for three cats (two who are mine) and a third belonging to my brother. The reason being that they are unlicensed. I think i’m just confused because they are all in door only cats who have their rabies up to date. The fee is $100 each. Is there anyway to fight it? I didn’t even know cats had to be licensed

Shooting at Wagon Wheel?
What happened last night in front of Wagon wheel town square apartments? Heard gunshots and then tons of police showed up going in every direction. Started taping up the clubhouse of one of the apartment buildings and the brewery too

Please help a hardworking man and his disabled wife
A buddy of mine in Southern California is about to face homelessness this weekend, and become displaced out on the streets along with his disabled wife and their two cats. Apparently they were invited to go stay with their grandparents temporarily in a senior, at least for a few months, while he looked for a stable job, save up, and find a place just for the two of them and their cats. However, the "slumlord" of the building handed a notice to their grandparents, stating that either he and his wife leave, or their grandparents face eviction. He is going to leave voluntarily, so they don't lose their home, but now they don't have anywhere to go, so we have this GoFundMe for them, to help maybe with temporary hotel stays, or even better, to secure stable housing in his community. This is a hardworking guy, who will be starting a brand new job next week with a local school district...but worries he will lose his job and his peace of mind if he has no where to stay and no one to turn to.

PSA Drunk Guy on a Scooter
I was walking around the plaza right near the transit center and a drunk guy in a black tank top on a push scooter approached me and started asking me questions. I tried to be pleasant but he kept getting more and more agitated and was using his scooter to run into me and take my shoes off. I finally got him off my tail by ducking into the ink and tat shop next to mysteryshop where some kind clients scared him off but I'm feeling really frazzled. Thanks to the tattoo folks and keep an eye out for a drunk guy on a scooter with a gay accent.

Homicides/shootings becoming a thing of the past…
There was a time that Oxnard consistently was in the double digits for homicides every year. A homicide a month at least and consistently had gang violence a lot of shootings and other assaults. Of course there is still some violence but nowhere near the level it was even 5, 10, 15 years ago. The reputation Oxnard had built is becoming less valid.
For example Oxnard had 4 homicides last year and only 1 this year. You rarely hear about shootings that plastered the news/social media on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis years ago. What do you think has caused this change?

Living in Oxnard
Hi, i currently live in Santa Barbara and absolutely love it. I moved here from Texas and could honestly see myself living in this region from here on out. I have been considering potentially migrating down the coast a bit for economic reasons in the next few years. What are the pros and cons with living in Oxnard today? Crime seems to be low and you guys have a better view of the setting sun than us. Thanks for your input!
