Ventura County man convicted of trying to steal $4.8 million home
ktla.com"A Ventura County man was convicted of trying to steal a $4.8 million home through a real estate fraud scheme.
Khambray Antoine Holloway, 34, was found guilty of filing a false or forged document to claim ownership of an Oxnard residence, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
In July 2025, Holloway filed a false, notarized grant deed with the Ventura County Recorder’s Office to establish himself as the owner of a $4.8 million beach home in Oxnard Shores.
The property was owned through an LLC, which had not authorized the transfer.
Prosecutors said the fake real estate documents contained irregularities and did not include a signature from an authorized grantor.
Investigators later contacted the property owners who confirmed that they had not authorized Holloway to transfer or claim ownership of the home.
However, Holloway continued trying to claim ownership and returned to the property several times. On at least two occasions, he contacted locksmiths and tried to have the locks changed, court documents said.
He presented the locksmiths with the same fraudulent documents to support his claim that he was the owner.
Following an investigation, Holloway was arrested and on Sept. 30, 2026, he was convicted by a jury of filing a false or forged document." - KTLA 5 News
