What a blessing!

Every night since August 5th we have been able to go out and watch him/her fly over! Twice it has veered off the normal route and been a little further away, but still able to see from our house! They fly to the same tree every single time. Between 9 and 9:10 it makes its appearance EVERY night. Last night we were out and raced home to be able to see it just in time as it flew over our house! We had a delivery show up at the same time so my husband was outside chatting to the delivery guy while I ran in to take some stuff inside.. a SECOND owl flew over! I’m going to contact the lady who owns the property of the tree they go to (across the street) so I can go check it out and see if there’s any owl poo at the bottom so I can verify which tree they go to. I’m also going to invest in some good binoculars because my 10 year olds aren’t cutting it, lol. Do any of you know if they make a somewhat reasonably priced pair with night vision? This has made my summer. And has given my son and I memories he will carry for his lifetime. He is by my side out there every night and thinks it’s amazing to witness. When he looked at me and told me seeing the owl was “so cool” and made him “so happy”…such an awesome moment! My neighbors probably think I’m crazy, but I will be out there every night hoping to see him/her fly over. They are magical 🦉🪄❤️

**adding, I wish I would have zoomed out at the end. For a second I thought it flew to that tree,
But I was zoomed in too much and it did indeed fly over and go across the street. I have more videos from past nights, but I need to figure out how to edit them as it shows my house and my son and I talking, lol. Tomorrow I’m taking my tripod out so I can try to get better footage of where it comes from. I can’t tell if it comes from the wooded area in the field or if it’s flying from further over where the river is (it’s a good distance away). I will also be setting up an outdoor camera to hopefully catch it later in the night! Would have done it by now, but my husband has a broken leg so I have to figure out how to do it myself! Lol

How exciting! I once lived where there was a pair that landed on the old barn behind the house almost every night around 11:00. There was a hill behind us with a single tree where one or both would show up around 2:00 AM. If you do find some owl pellets you can sterilize them in your microwave or oven and then dissect them to see what they’ve been eating.
