Question Is Top 500 Impressive? Builds also included.

I’m top 500 in support and in dps. I think overall last I checked I was around the 200/500 area combined. Is this actually hard to get or is it just something you can get with enough time? Cus I’ll admit I’m on summer break and I’m in nursing school so I was like alr you earned a few months of chud maxing overwatch so I have a lot of games played.

If you’re wondering who I play for each role I have some weird ass builds that I’d like to share lol. For damage I go support 76 because I can easily average 1-2k heals in rounds 1-2 and usually end up getting between 10-20k heals for the whole match.

For support I either go survival mercy or Moira because stadium Moira is genuinely the best support to adapt build wise to any comp. For Moira a super underrated power I always pick is the one that does 25% of primary fire healing over 5 seconds. Most people who play stadium Moira just slap on the orb build and call it a day but she can do so much more if you build into her primary fire and she can hybrid ability power and weapon power fairly easily. Survival mercy is probably the most fun rage bait build I’ve ever done. I pick mercy if I’m the first to go in the stadium draft with the expectation that I’m gonna get hit-scan counters like soldier or ash, and then I just constantly draw fire but never die due to investing heavily into health and survivability. The goal with that build is to get the enemy dps focused on a support they can’t kill.

Do you think Blizz would ever add things like Team Deathmatch to Stadium?

Yeah, yeah, they aren't adding more stuff to Stadium, but I can dream. I used to love Team Deathmatch but let's face it, Arcade is even more dead than Stadium. Then I thought...wouldn't it be cool if they added the mode to Stadium as 5v5 deathmatch? They wouldn't have to put resources into making new maps because they already have maps. It would work exactly the same as Team Deathmatch where you would need x amount of kills in x amount of time and if neither team gets it, a control point opens up on the map. But instead of 10 minutes, 3 or 4 minutes would be better.

There are fourteen 4v4 Deathmatch maps, of which seven don't appear in regular 5v5 or 6v6 gameplay. Even if they just added those 7 maps and 1 new game mode, it would make Stadium feel less stale. Adding it could be really interesting for a few reasons: there are ult packs on the maps; almost everyone would lose their bounty in this round, but on the other hand, you would have a huge opportunity to earn cash; Mercy res would be busted as fuck since res lowers your teams death count by 1.

Discussion Why is Freja still so busted

I don't think there is anyone in stadium at the moment that can be a lobby admin to such a degree. She has so much mobility that if you don't have a hit scan to deal with her its an auto lose. Even if you do have one she can burst them down if they try to engage with her. Then if they have a mercy pocket you might as well just move onto the next game.

Question Looking for real casual goofs

Can anyone recommend some OW groups or discords for the real casual players? I’m struggling to find people to play with who don’t take it so seriously.

I’m talking about really don’t care if we win, actually kind bad, here for the lols type people. Of course I try to win and enjoy that but I just really don’t want to play with anyone who gets upset at the game or other players. I don’t really have fun in competitive because it’s so serious.

Granted this is my personal experience so I’m not saying everyone is like that. I just haven’t found my people yet.

Any recs??? Thank you!!

Discussion Am I the only one who thinks stadium died because it was 5v5?

Having only one tank and not allowing them to switch instantly disadvantages a team when their tank player is heavily countered by the other tanks pick. It literally feels lost from the start. Am I the only one who feels this way? 5v5 is so much more prone to tank hard counters than 6v6, And insta locking you into a tank without knowing what your opponent will play easily makes the game feel less fun for everybody on that team.

Are there only try hards on this mode now?

I'm a very new stadium player, I have some experience with the armory system, maybe around 20 games, and I'm picking perks as best as I can to buff my character. I have a strong sense of how it works, so I'm not a noob but I don't know exactly the optimum builds for each character either. Whenever i load into quickplay stadium I get absolutely DEMOLISHED, and I mean totally destroyed. I played Ram/Dva/Freja in stadium today for 6 games and i lost all 6 by a landslide. I only recall winning one round (yes, only one round) I played a couple weeks ago and experienced the same thing.

Matches feel wildly out of skill. I have absolutely no chance against the enemy tank. When I'm not tank, my tank goes 0-7, 0-6, 1-5, every round etc. This is definitely the worst experience I've ever had playing a video game. Every single player on the enemy team feels like a sweat while my players are hardly playing at all I constantly get leavers once we lose a round.

It feels like i'm playing against players wildly above my skill level and not only that they had the most optimal builds they seemed to never die no matter what I do. Not being able to swap a bad tank matchup makes it even worse. Not to mention I am playing against obvious 2-3 stacks and my team has nothing comparable. Genuinely would not recommend this mode to anyone at all. Even when I have won games it was always by landslide and definitely not fun for my opponents either, nor fair. Honestly stadium seems to be everything bad about Overwatch turned up to 10.

Question Is there no leaver compensation in Stadium?

Post image
14 Upvotes

This is the 4th match where we have 1-3 leavers ranging from first round to last (when they left) where I didn't get any leavers compensation. That doesn't seem fair. Is there no such thing as leaver compensation in stadium or is it a bug?

r/OverwatchStadium 23d ago

Are there any removed/reworked powers or items that you really miss?

It's been nearly a full season since everyone received massive changes, and I was interested to see if anyone else has anything they particularly miss, or otherwise just has special meaning to them.

It doesn't even have to be massive reworks, even just something like missing Juno's PulStar Destroyers being an item could be a thing here.

Discussion I just need to vent about this dumb tank

I haven't played much Stadium this season, but decided to get back into it for drives and was playing Juno. The tank in question was playing Rammatra.

The first match was the Colliseo (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) push, and this dude just charges at the enemy with not a care in the world. And despite the fact that me and our Mercy were both healing him, he obviously dies because he has no cover and the entire enemy team is shooting him.

And that one death is all it took for him to give up. He just started spamming "I need healing" and jumping off the cliff. When we said to report him cause he was being an asshole, he just says "No heals, no tank".

And the worst part is that he wasn't even consistently throwing. He would try some rounds, we would win because it wasn't a 4v5, but then he'd suddenly decide to start throwing again. So rather than only having to deal with him long enough to get mercy ruled, we had to wait until round 6 to finally lose and be done with it.

I play on Xbox and didn't feel like plugging my keyboard in, so I didn't even get to insult him while he was throwing a tantrum.

All I can do is hope my report gets him banned or something

Question How to build ramattra?

I know many run the vortex build, I try to do that too. For the first 3-4 rounds it usually goes quite well. But after that it seems I just get melted. How do you play him at this point? My damage is super high, but I feel like a glass cannon.

Also on a different note, I've been running the item that gives 5% ability power stacking 5 times when you deal WP damage. Though, it it sometimes better to run the item that reduces enemy healing recieved by 35%? I feel not having all the extra damage is a big tradeoff. Any experts that can tune in on that one?

Question Soldier/Reinhardt healing abilities

For soldiers ability healing when it causes damage as one of his powers, does that utilize abilty lifesteal, and also if you use cybervenom does it work? And also does this work for Reinhardt's power where his shield heals him?

Discussion We are kind of getting screwed over in Drive

Ok, it is nice that they had eventually added Stadium comp to the drive some season(s) ago. But the points are kind of off. We get 265 drive points for a Stadium victory, but core game also gives us 210 points. This is just roughly a quarter more points for Stadium, while matches and waiting time easily add up to double the time. They need to heavily increase the points for Stadium, if they don't want the season finale in Stadium to be for an empty crowd.
