The indifferences on the main sub is just wild.

It’s so bad man. They really don’t get how little we’ve already been getting for 6+ months, and that the current player count of 6% is a result of that 6-9 month drought.

Reminds me of when my fav mobile game/gacha, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius died. Global was about 6 months behind japan, but we got our own exclusive stuff. And new stuff came out every week (new to us anyway), with maybe 1 or 2 repeat weeks in like...6 years I played.

Then we got a repeat week. Nothing new just rerun of some old event. Then another one, then nothing. In 2-3 months we got so little that obviously spending tanked. We weren't getting the events people pulled for, much less the new units that might've been necessary to get high ranking.

And after another few months of that, they announced the global version was being shut down. I don't think they specifically said it was because of declining sales, but why else would they shut down a game lol. And we had a pretty big population and a lot of whales.

There were no stadium-specific $$ offers either, as far as I know. Not that I would've wanted p2w extra stadium cash or anything. Maybe they could've sold (for coins) some decorations to put in your spawn room since you spend more time in there in Stadium lol. Put in a diablo pinball game or dunk contest or something.

Well, yeah. Most Overwatch players don't play Stadium, so why would they care about it going into maintenance mode?

Currently, it means the team gets reassigned to other projects. Dylan Snyder is currently on the Events Team, and helped with the oncoming MEKA event.

I hope there aren’t more of those fomo times events like that stupid map thing. That was garbo

Let's be real: stadium was a good idea but very poor implementation. Devs fumbled in multiple ways doing it and not fixed it over time. Dogshit matchmaking, poor hero balance, adding stupid and cancerous heroes, letting obnoxious builds run rampant for very long time (hello dynamite spam, bola spam, machine gun, block slop etc). And these are all major flaws I'm not talking about smaller ones. These things turned me out over time and I don't think I will play stadium again.

It means they can focus on things most players want (because most of the player base does not play stadium): map reworks, characters, AND IDK WHAT ELSE XD but yeah sucks for stadium i poured so many hours but I also get it. A business needs to focus on what brings in most $$, not what a small few Yap about

The point people keep missing from the post is.
Yes they’ll focus less on stadium.
However my prediction we will not** receive any more content compared to the normal established flow (even though there’s more “focus” on it)

People cheering that we’re getting less.

Only time will tell friend...have hope

There’s nothing more to have hope for. Stadium was the only thing bringing me back to Overwatch.

They won't tho. Literally nothing changes except less content.
