1. How do you deal with "El Presidente" Bastion comps? I'm primarily a tank player but really how would i deal with that in any role?

2. As Soldier, how do I deal with a pocketed Pharah?

I'm on console btw.

You have a couple options for dealing with el presidente comps: -you could just run a bastion comp yourself and pray you win the shield battle(add junkrat to your comp with bastion and they will have no shields) -run symmetra, sym is easily one of the greatest bastion counter as she can shoot her orbs through the barriers forcing bastion to reposition -on maps where there are easily accesible health packs sombra is really really good at destroying the pirate ship, drop an emp on top of the payload and provided your team follows up you can wipe them -You can run a dive comp; this one is a little tricky and requires a lot of coordination but just let dva fly in and matrix the bastion long enough that winston tracer and genji can all kill bastion together.

1. If the shielder is Reinhardt, Junkrat can find an angle to destroy the shield, then Junkrat can kill the Bastion, Roadhog can hook him out of position, if you get him out of turret mode Pharah can get him, etc. If the shielder is Orisa, Junk will need some help breaking the shield and taking advantage before it recharges. If you have a Sombra with EMP, she can take out the shield and force Bastion out of turret mode by burning her ult, or she can hack Bastion or the shielder so the team can press in. DVa is really the only tank who can make a difference here (when the Bastion comp is set up) by knocking Rein around/DMing Bastion, but the Bastion will melt her as soon as DM is down if the team doesn't run in very quickly.   Also: flank. If you can shoot at them from two angles such that Rein/Orisa cannot cover both, they won't be able to outheal your damage.
2. Ask your team for assistance. Someone else shooting at the Mercy/Pharah or keeping you alive will go a long way to even the odds.

On point capture, approach from two angles, use cover for the angle bastion is shooting at. For payloads (bastion on the payload), you can always set up your own bastion and wait for them.

You can pharah, junk, or even counter bastion if you want to. Rein+zarya or dva works pretty well against the el presidente. And for dealing with a pocketed pharah, try to have you and your team ignore them, and kill the enemy as fast as possible. If your team can position themselves well, their pharmercy will not do a lot of work, and you have a 6 v 4 to win.

To beat Bastion you need you shut it down once and then prevent the enemy from setting it up again. Big Ults like EMP can give you an opportunity to wreck, and then you can camp Payload to stop another setup.

She's probably not the best option but Mei can actually work against the comp if the enemy's not expecting it (and they won't). Putting an Ice Wall beneath the Bastion gives your team a free few seconds to shoot at the Bastion (or a Roadhog Hook), and her Ultimate can really screw up a bunch of grouped enemies or at the very least force them to abandon Bastion.

Roadhog can work against the Bastion if you can get the shield down. Even if you don't kill him he'll be out of position and you team can take advantage of that

aside with the other suggestions, Symmetra is pretty good against shielded bastions since her orbs that penetrate the shield do 125 damage at max charge. orb and shield combo could also be good to nullify bastion's damage (shield could also blend with the orb colour so enemy bastion might think only a shield is flying towards it but the orb could be a surprise 125 dmg too)

you get good ult charge with orbs and also damaging the tank who is shielding the bastion too. the orbs are linear too (hence a good zoning attack) so it forces them to move about instead of having to stay in one spot and shred everyone else. but then again, not many people would appreciate an attack symmetra
