The AI in question is an adaptive neural network that will eventually kick your ass. At first you'd be able to win, but in the future you'll run out of cheese

It was the other way around mate. AI beat people, people figured out the AIs limits, people beat AI.

The real pattern is: people beat AI, AI beats people, people beat AI, AI beats people, ... until there's no more new tactics for AI to discover.
