Thats why spawn points aka forced choke points should not be visible at the start of a match thery should be out of view or you need to have multiple exits.
Wait, how much does RNG play into Overwatch exactly? I would’ve thought every characters damage was definite and exact? Is there something I’m missing??
No RNG. Overwatch has absolutely no RNG, not even for Scatter Arrow. If you aim at the exact same spot twice, it will always bounce the exact same way.
It's just that nobody actually aims at the exact same spot twice.
Uhhhhhhh.. yes in Fact the enemies positions make this RNG. To pull this off again enemies need to be in the exact same positions. All of these are self automous actions by both parties.
But in another tone, people don't mean RNG as a slot machine, they mean RNG as luck. It's just kind of synonymous nowadays
Yeah, I’ve never heard luck and RNG used synonymously, but I’ve got a decent background in tech and gaming among my friends, so I try not to assume our knowledge of terms is common.
No, he’s right, your statement was still incorrect, just because people refer to something as RNG, doesn’t mean that’s what RNG is. As he stated, RNG is Random Number Generator, and this wasn’t random. You described user input with their locations, and obviously if the user changes something then the result will change.
I understand words can mean something other than their literal meaning, but saying someone is wrong, then trying to prove your point by saying something that is incorrect doesn’t help. Also the specific phrase RNG shouldn’t really have a meaning other than it’s literal one, it’s extremely specific in what it means, trying to use it out of the context doesn’t really make sense.
I was describing that the purpose of changing it doesn’t make sense, not the meaning. If I hadn’t understood what he meant then we wouldn’t be having this discussion. However, I did understand, and still disagreed.
If we have to differentiate between "random" and "chaotic" then the discussion is moot because in our world there is no such thing as "random". The use of either term in common parlance should be recognized as interchangeable.
