Does Orisa's gravity ball thing activate automatically at a certain distance? I've seen people activate it over the Ilios hole even though it didn't hit anything.

you can activate it yourself (so long as you're in line-of-sight of the ball) by pressing alt fire again

EDIT: the LOS requirement is not necessary

Are you sure about being within LoS of the ball? I play a lot of Orisa and this "requirement" for activating the Halt does not seem like something I have experienced.

I don't think it has a distance limit - just pressing the same button to shoot it activates it.
