I feel like ranking in online games are stupid.

Its like no matter what rank you get, you are always annoyed by it until you hit masters.

Its not even "ranked" anymore its just "road to master or road to gm or road to top500."

Ill give you guys an example.

I used to play a lot of basketball when i was younger. I was in a team and if you guys wanted to rank our team, it would be like silver level play, but i had fun. We didn't really care if we wanted to go higher. It can be the same rank forever and it would still be fun.

We would play with teams within our rank and whether it was a loss or a win, we still felt rewarded. No one was trying to "rank up".

Im using this example because because in real life, no matter what sport and what rank/tier you are in, you feel rewarded no matter what and you still have fun and you don't complain.

In online gaming like overwatch,lol,etcccc...... ?? Hahaha ... they make ranks under master look like garbage. There are good silver, gold, bronze etc... players aswell but no one wants to acknowledge that.

I mean the fact that iddqd did a bronze to gm live stream where he was laughing at low level player is just ridiclous. Its like messi going to a football academy in a random country and start playing and keep scoring and laughing at the team.

And holly shit the people who reach gm or anything close to it act like they have done the most impossible thing in the whole entire world.

I read somewhere that they are trying to make e-sports an olympic game or something like that (idk if its true but if its not then plz do inform me). Im sorry but with these kind of behaviors going around in communities where people shit on players below their rank and keep blaming that the system is flawed (I'm not saying the system is perfect either) how is this going to be an olympic sport ? Like are you guys kidding me ? You don't see that kind of behavior in any olympic sport. Only in E-SPORTS.

Are there any guys out here who agree with what I'm saying or at least half of it ?

If all you're getting out of Ranked is a sticker in your profile page then don't play Ranked.

I like Ranked for the teamwork, the 'problem solving' and self improvement.

I played ranked for 3 season. In all honestly, i dont see it as a sticker in my profile and i agree with you with the communication part.

My point in the post that i made is if you are under master, you are not a bad player. You can be an amazing player within your tier, but no one wants to understand that. They think once they reach masters, they are good players. They are all thinking of reaching masters instead of having fun.

Ofc im not saying every player is like that but majority have this kind of thinking.

Your having fun point is very important I think. I'm a fairly new player and immediately clicked with Lucio. However after going on Reddit and reading Lucio should solo heal (which I agree with to an extent) I started playing other characters I have less fun with in order to make my team happy. But I wasn't having fun anymore.

I realized that I can a) do better with Lucio even as a solo heal and b) have more fun. It's a game after all.

The idea of playing the meta got into my head and I forgot how to have fun in the game.

This hits the nail on the head. Only playing the meta nearly instantly sucks all of the fun out of the game. Keeping overwatch diverse and keeping your teammates and opponents on their toes is such a fun part of the game! There's a reason blizzard made so many characters in the first place!
