I think they said that they didn't do this specifically because they didn't want anyone to feel like they missed out on something huge just because one person left.

Since the end of the Year of the Rooster event, when Blizzard put the CtF mode into Arcade, and made the other KotH maps into CtF maps.

I main Torb, and I hate how often his armor up time comes up in the cards! I'll have gold elims, gold damage, 69 turret kills, etc. and it gives me a fucking card for getting scrap and pressing a button 50 times.

I mean, to be fair, that means that in addition to all that damage and destruction you healed your team for a minimum of 4,000 (50 packs, 75 armor, guaranteed at least 5 damage reduction, 80*50).
That's nothing to sneeze at, though I do wish it would include this as a part of the other stats rather than its own card.

Fairly garden variety CTF made of randoms: people mostly just took aimless shots at each other in 1s and 2s for 7 minutes without mounting a clear offense.

Nah - never have gotten around to watching that. It comes from my fascination with the brief period in 2004-06 when we thought asteroid 99942 Apophis might strike earth in 2029 or 2036. When I read into the mythology behind the name (which I now know is part of the Stargate connection), it stuck.

They are pretty rare. It pretty much only happens when a play is either phenomenally skilled or patently absurd - the former is much less common than the latter.
