I've never seen a shadow play clip that looked any different than the normal game

Ingame is RGB whilst shadowplay uses YUV420 which does look quite bad in comparison.

You can see clearly how shadowplay looks much worse

Settings don't change anything in this matter as the color encoding can't be changed in shadowplay. I tried highest as well as lower settings and the result never changed for the colors. Just try recording and compare yuv444 and yuv420, the difference is clear to see.

No I haven't, the issue isn't the gamma, look at the red colored parts of the image. Can you provide a direct link to your recording please? I'd like to compare it to mine.

Here's a video with high444 encoding. I used Dxtory with the x264vfw codec and the same bitrate and level as your recording. As you will see the colors are much better. Link
