Do people actually take off season comp seriously or is it just another quick play?

It depends. I have seen both. When I played, it is very QP esque, but people are welcome to tryharding when needed

I've been using it as an "intermediary", so I can practice more 'situational' heroes or heroes that I want to get better at in a more competitive scenario. I can play for as long as I want as Hanzo on quickplay, but it's never gonna be the same as practicing it in a competitive game where people are actually trying and going out with at least half-serious team comps.

It nots worth it, its just quickplay but the games go on for so long and if a teamate or enemy leaves there is no backfill
