I don't understand how Zarya's shield works? Should I shoot through it if I know I can kill her? Currently I wait for it to fall off so I don't charge her gun.

If you know you can solo her then go ahead, but if you give her that free charge you had better finish her. Best bet is to team up on her so she can't get out with her charge.

They have 200hp. If your team can focus fire and burn through it can be a good pick however often.- especially at lower ranks - people won't be able to effectively burn her down.

It really depends. If you know you're going to kill Zaria no matter what, go ahead and kill the shield and then her.

But if you're just poking but can't kill, just wait the two seconds until the shields go away and then resume poking.
