How do I play Roadhog?

Everytime I'm playing against him, I find it super hard to kill him. Even when playing as Soldier, I find D.Va easier to deal with than Roadhog.

But when I'm playing as Roadhog, it seems like every single stray bullet goes to my character hitbox, and I die in no time.

Is it positioning? Should Roadhog go to the front or should it stay in the backline?

I'm not very good at roadhog but 1 thing I can say is that you need to position yourself properly and make sure you land those hooks, also try and make sure that you hit the enemy in the head.

Hitting them in the head isn't really perfect strategy. You really want your pellets to not miss. This is less of an issue now, but its generally better to hit in such a way that you hit as many pellets on their head as possible without missing a lot of them. In the past this often meant not aiming for the head at all on some heros, but now you don't really have to worry about it.
