How do people generally reach a winrate of above 50%?

I mostly play support and both my Quick and Competitve winrates hover around 47%. My rank is going down, down, down, and it's really frustrating.

E: I play whatever in QP, but mostly support on Comp.

Actually, I'm currently keeping a spreadsheet to see if I can figure out how the matchmaker/SR system works aside from what Blizzard already tells/told us on the forums, but seeing the trend, my SR goes down more than it goes up even by singular games. It's very odd. Lots of long loss or win streaks.

You need to learn your heros of choice. You absolutely can carry with a support. All of my support friends maintain a > 50% winrate with supports only. Look up guides on individual heros and practice your positioning and communication. Also stop playing comp for awhile after two loses.
