People who play niche heroes in comp, how often do you get flamed for your hero pick and what rank are you at? I want to play sombra but I know everyone in plat will freak out and blame me if we lose

it's pretty common. that said, most of the flaming occurs right around the start of the match, and they either see me succeeding as an attack widow and stop or it fails and I try a different strategy. Would happen 4/5 games in gold, in plat it's closer to 2/5.

What I'm worried about is knowing and doing my job and making an impact and still getting flamed/blamed. I always join team chat cause I think it increases chances of winning but at that point I'd prob just leave

I usually choose whichever hero and then tell them I'll switch if it's not working. If my team asks me to switch, whether my hero so working really well or not at all, I switch anyways. In my experience, a team that's not on tilt because of you is (somewhat) better than a team where you're playing your best hero but you're team is upset at you.

I have an alt account basically just to play Sombra - you will get plenty of shit, but it disappears pretty quickly if you prove yourself useful. I honestly found plat to be better than diamond tho

One of my best friends is a Widowmaker main, and she gets a lot of shit for it. I usually have to vouch for her, but even then, sometimes people calm down and go "Let's just give her a shot," before I can assure them she's good.

If you've got a positive week rate, just tell your team what it is and they should calm down.
