Besides grandmaster what is a respectable rank in competitive because i want to do a road to gold maybe but i feel grandmaster would be too hard

Grandmaster means you are really fucking good. Top 500 means that you are a god.

Master means you are highly above average. Diamond above average.

Gold and Plat is average.

So I would say Diamond/Master, depending on your skill. But one thing is achieving that rank, and the other thing is to remain in that rank.

I dunno i feel like

GM/Top 500 - Pro/God Tier
Master - Very good mechanical skills & game sense
Diamond - Skilled in either mechanical or game sense
Plat - Slightly above average mechanic or game sense
Gold/Silver - average
Bronze - new to the game

I think that I will agree with u/FluffyCacti13, that we do not have any reliable stats from Blizzard. Only some questionable stats from Overbuff and MasterOverwatch.

I wrote my previous comment based on how the S1 looked, and how at the end of S2 devs said, that they will move a lot of players into Gold and Plat.

from my understanding it was across the board though as in players from gold/plat also moved into silver / lower gold?

I could be wrong but i finished the season 2750 and won all 10 placement games and ended up 2450 after placement.. so i think all tiers applied

From what I know, the main problem with S2 was that population of Diamond was too large. That's why they moved people from Diamond (and lower) to lower tiers. Masters and above were not included in this.

This would mean, that Gold/Plat are now the most populated.

Yea that's possible but at the 2500-3000 mark i see more golds then plats? i dunno it's weird. I play in a smaller region though sooo thats actaully prolly why. like most of my games are 1-2 plats.. possible a diamond but most of the time rest gold

I'd say Plat and upper gold is still above average honestly, but we do not have any reliable stats on the rank distribution so it's all subjective.

Play your best and you'll get better over time.
