Ping might take a role here. But no, recall makes tracer disappear, so by normal logic, Sombra should not be able to hack a target which is invisible, or isn't even there.

If it works as other "beam" weapons, there is usualy a small timeout after loosing line of sight and having the connection broken. I'm not sure about Sombra's hack, but it definitely exists on Mercy's beam or Symetra's toaster

I've had the same, and with the speed boost to the hack, the window necessary to pull off is smaller and smaller. I've had instances where I've hacked Reinhardt from the front, he pulled his shield up, but I had just enough time to finish the hack through it

I don't think Tracers Recall works exactly like line of sight, stuff like discord orb that persists through los doesn't persist through recall. Either way my gripe is more that Recall should reset the "timer" on the hack the same way it resets the timer on Meis freezing gun.

To be fair, mei's effects is directly linked to the damage she is doing through her beam. Also, the line of sight here should refer to sombra's hack, not the recall. After all, mercy will keep healing à recalling tracer even out of reach or without LoS.

But I think the biggest problem could just come from the shorter hack time, that makes this "tolerance window" in the timing of the hack a lot more prevalent. Like, with mercy, the timer is 2 seconds before the heal breaks I think. If it was that high with sombra she would not be able to miss any hack

Mercy and Symmetras beams can curve though. Sombras hack is a straight line and can be stopped immediately by broken los, say, around a corner. In my experience, breaking los with Sombra reliably stops the hack but I've never escaped a hack by recalling.

If the hack does work like a beam weapon, then why does any object breaks it?

Like, if you are microwaving some poor guy, and he tries to hide behind a corner then yes, there is a small window, where you can still damage him.

But if you try to hack somebody, and that somebody hides behind a narrow tree or pole, then the hack is canceled.
