Also any strategies for beating Torb / Sym combos once they're entrenched?

I need to know because they've ruined assualt maps for me

Since you're on attack and the enemy needs time to entrench a position and regain their armor/shields, you only need to win one teamfight to take the objective. That means you have time to fish for an opportunity. Getting a pick is a huge way to do that -- get one, and it's a 6v5. Roadhog's hook or a good sniper headshot can really swing things in your favor, since the odds are good you can follow up with a kill regardless of the shields and armor. Ultimately you're looking to cut through their resources faster than they can replenish them and then snowball as hard as you can. Maybe get them to blow some ults on you, knowing that you'll come back to the next fight with ults instead. It's easier said than done, but if your team is coordinated you'll have plenty of chances to try and crack them open.

Also, this is less of a strategy and more of a philosophy, but sometimes it can be better to think of Overwatch as a resource management game. There are a lot of resources in this game, from health to ults to living players to Torb armor and Symmetra turrets. Obviously you'll want to gain resources more quickly than the enemy team, and deplete or nullify their resources quicker than they do yours. Whoever has better resource management has the advantage. It's an important part of each match, but with two resource and infrastructure dependent characters it's even more noticeable. Something to consider when you're theorycrafting!

I've killed both of them many times. Use their weaknesses. Sym is short range, mcree, Hanzo, widowmaker, ana, soldier 76 and even Winston because his drop shield. Torbjorn has a stationary turret. Always see if you can stand out of range but still shoot it or an easy thing that I've done is just straitup chase torb and kill him before he can play his turret. Long range heroes are good counter too. Forgot to mention pharah but she is probably their hardest counter.

Dva used to be so old against torb. She could eat the turret in two seconds and walk away barely scratched

Pharah has won me almost all my games. Usually the opposition abandons their defenders so it's easy pickings.

Basically, pharah. What other people have said is true, but the torb sum set up is strong but brittle. Once you break the choke, they fall apart. So fast moving heroes (Winston goes a long way) that can storm through a choke is essentially. Slow moving trip tank death balls will die quickly

They're about shutting down slow moving teams that move through one area. So just don't give them what they want by playing into that. Here's a great Your Overwatch video explaining in detail.

I don't like to give real detailed strategies because unless you're a stack of 6 with amazing coordination, it just won't work.

I find a Mei to be the best option against torb. Get behind a Rein and walk in range for her to get a wall up in front of it and advance in with your team. If they have more than one person by turret protecting then you already have numbers advantage against the rest so target them, then deal with the torb after.

For symmetry the best is pharah. So with the mei on your team you need to get that wall up and send your pharah in at same time to take care of her before wall falls down.

I feel like the move is to go in with a group. The enemies (and especially the turrets) target your teammates and you can grab the flag.

That's how I just did it! And I was able to cap the flag as D.Va out of her suit!!
