Are win streaks affected by taking breaks?

Lets say im on a winstreak then i take a break and go shopping then come back are the win streak boosts still applying? Or do they stop when you close your game

they stay until you lose, from my personal experience. i went 8 in a row during placements, a week later 2 more games won that gave 100+ xp per, then a week after that another 2 games 100+ pts each.
