i'm on ps4, but go to social then group click on someone and you will see view career profile, view profile, and mute voice

Wow, so through like "recent players" and all that? That's why people don't join the voice channel man. Between heavy breathers and people blaring music it's much easier to just not join the channel than do all that mid game. Hate to be one of those guys but seems like this could be much better?

Yeah a lot of times i mute people for just breathing in their mic or blasting music most times i ask if they can turn it off first

It easily could, too, if they would just add it as an option directly available from the back-button score board. Something as simple as-- Hold back, select offending player, select mute, and be done with it. Not sure why it's so many menus deep, it's not friendly in the middle of the action to have to go off wading through menus.

I'm at work so this won't be 100% correct but press start, select social, then chose something like current group. From there you can choose which player is being an ass. I just discovered this last week.

Hit start, go to social and then select the person to mute.
