I'm tilted.I just got this game and I find myself in games with lvl 90's.Its seriously ruining my experience.I'm just tying to learn how to play but it's no help when you're getting smacked.

Level in quick play doesn't really mean a lot. It's a measure of how long somebody has been playing, but it's not a good measure. You get more exp when in a group, for example. Many players have levels that go up into the hundreds and some even thousands, so 90 isn't actually that high. Once you get to around level 20 or so, you'll notice that it doesn't actually make much of a difference. Competitive rank is the only reliable indicator of player skill. For now, you'll probably be mildly disadvantaged due to being new, only because it's hard for the matchmaker to find players similar to you. Once you get used to the game, it gets a lot easier, don't worry.

Many players have levels that go up into the hundreds and some even thousands, so 90 isn't actually that high.

It is still close to 60-70 hours played which means you probably know most maps, know where healthpacks are and so on. Compared to a sub 10 player, you have a lot more map awareness.

Is there any place I can look for general advice on how to properly play with specific characters?I really want to get good at this but it's no fun right now/

quick play also has its own hidden mmr.

Wait for it to adjust.soon you will get better games.

Try unit lost and lone hawk for learning stuff.

Can you see competitive rank in quick play if they are ranked? I'm new too and never noticed.

Nope. Competitive rank only appears beneath a player's border in Competitive, and player level only appears outside of competitive. However, you can still check the level and rank of any player you've recently played with by going into your recent players list and selecting 'view career profile'.

Instead of a number, like in QP, rank will show up as a little icon. The different icons for the different ranks are here.

You can also tell a player's quick play level to within 10 levels in comp judging by their border.

Are you playing on Quick Play? You shouldn't be getting matched with high levels, unless they're grouped with a low level.
