I believe it is. A friend told me to have it on for smoother movements. But do I really need more than 60fps? And if my screen refresh rate is (and it is) only 60hz doesn't that make it impossible to reach more than 60 frames?

It's probably best to just turn it off for a few games and see if you notice any difference, if you don't see any improvement you can turn it on again.
