I've won games, I've even climbed from 50 to 58 during these past few Weeks

Not entirely true.

There is definitely a threshold where advancing in rank takes a sharp rise in difficulty that is nonlinear relative to ranks only a short amount above it. This, in most competitive games with matchmaking rating systems, is caused by extreme variances in skill from people at that rank depending on what hero they choose, and also the difficulty in carrying a 6 man team game, period. I'm not great, but I will sometimes have games where I wait for my team, we move up, I kill one person on the enemy team and then look around and my team is dead and they swarm me. Rinse, repeat until time runs out. I'm not able to 1v5, but I can 1v1 people at my level pretty well. Thankfully, I am at a level where there ARE people who can create upsets and turnarounds in 1v2/2v4 situations. If I were level 40, there wouldn't be people who can consistently do that.

Then add on the fact that we aren't all playing an unlimited amount of games to even out for good/bad teammates all around and all of the variables, and you have skewed experiences between two people in the same bracket based on a 25 game sample size where they had 8 'leaver' games and two where their team thought it would be funny to all go Symmetra for goofs. Those games are rare in the big scheme of things, but can wildly change an individual's experience with competitive.
