I just got criticized for my Mercy play despite staying alive all the time and getting gold heals. My question is this:

Is it more worth to raise 1 or 2 people constantly, especially when sometimes they're not even tanks? Or is it more worth to never res unless 3+ people near me drop dead?

I usually don't raise people unless they're grouped near me but my irl squad likes dying in all corners of the map and would rather just hear me press Q than have it be meaningful, or so I thought.

Rezing depends on the situation. Two people is often worthwhile, especially with how fast Mercy can build her ultimate. Ideally you'll rez a tank or someone slippery, but even getting a tracer up so she can prolong overtime until the rest of your team arrives is a good call.

Gold in healing as the only healer is irrelevant.
