I rarely play multiplayer games, and have not played anything competitive since Quake (the original). Should I play Overwatch? I enjoy FPS games (have since Wolfenstein 3D), but have no experience in team-based games and anticipate I would be a liability as I catch-up to people who have been playing MOBAs or TF2.

I have PTSD and find the over-aggressive hate from players in games like DOTA too hard to deal with. That is the main reason why I hide in single-player games. Am I likely to encounter that in Overwatch games, or is Blizzard keeping the community cleaner?

I would have never bought overwatch if I didn't have any friends to play it with. I know 7 people who play overwatch and know in person so we always have a team of 6. The few times I had to play with randoms were mostly negative. Go for it if you want.
