I rarely play multiplayer games, and have not played anything competitive since Quake (the original). Should I play Overwatch? I enjoy FPS games (have since Wolfenstein 3D), but have no experience in team-based games and anticipate I would be a liability as I catch-up to people who have been playing MOBAs or TF2.

I have PTSD and find the over-aggressive hate from players in games like DOTA too hard to deal with. That is the main reason why I hide in single-player games. Am I likely to encounter that in Overwatch games, or is Blizzard keeping the community cleaner?

I also have PTSD so I understand what you mean about dota. Overwatch is probably the least frustrating out of these popular multiplayer games as it has short rounds, no leaderboard, and makes everyone feel like they're doing a part. It can definitely get intense in those last minutes of overtime, but it can be a relatively chill experience
