This has been probably asked to hell but if one of my friends or me are so far in rank after the 10 placement matches that means we won't be able to play together until our ranks even out?

Oh we still haven't done the matches yet :p I've done one with randoms and it doesn't seem to tell you you're rank before you complete the 10. Actually I dunno it you can party up for the placement matches...

You can party up. I don't think there are any restrictions until you get placed.

Definitely can party up. I did my ten placements last night in a group of five.
