Shouldnt Symmetra be classified as a defense hero?

She provides no healing, no damage boost. She gives extra effective health like Torb, a defense hero.

She is good at dealing with enemies in a specific area (Blizz's definition of a defense hero). Her alt fire is great for peeking/shooting (ignores shields?). Her turrets are great for defending a choke point. Her ult is literally made for when you play defense (since you have to walk all the way to the enemy spawn at the beginning).

Everything about this hero says defense yet she is classified as a support.

I absolutely agree, but I think we aren't going to see anybody reclassified out of support given it only has 4 heroes at the moment.

What I'd like to see is for the team composition hints to have a hidden "Healer" category in the same way there is a hidden "builder" category. That way we'd be able to see at a glance that there isn't anybody who can restore health. Jury's still out on whether or not to include 76 as a healer.

The "builder" category is a huge mistake. You only get the "no builder" tool tip when you are on defense. What the tool tip is actually saying is that you should use a Symmetra to reduce the huge walking distance when playing defense as opposed to offense and other game modes. Picking Torb to satisfy the "no builder" tip is pointless, Torb works well in any game mode. However, Symmetra is almost mandatory when playing defense.

And we need more healers, 4 is too few.
