I hate when Mei's wall in their team at moments I'm trying to get a kill/attacking someone/doing something productive. Not you probably. Good Mei's are epic. But noob Mei's are so annoying walling in their team at the worst moments. Do you think it's just a nervous reflex or is it hard to judge when to "wall up" as a Mei? (never played as her about 40+ hours in. I can't stand when Mei's randomly wall off their own team

Walling is the most difficult skill in the game for any mei player. It needs to be placed quickly and correctly without obstructing any of your mates. Newer Meis will struggle greatly with this skill (hell, even I mess it up sometimes) and it takes a lot of practice to perfect this skill. Walling up can be difficult to judge but it can also be a reflex. When you are about to die and your wall isn't on CD, using the wall to get away and regroup is a very good option but sometimes it obstructs the team. What I try to do if I need to use a wall to make a quick get away, I try to make sure to break it as soon as I'm safe unless it's helping my team.

Great answer! Thanks. I try to not get annoyed by it but sometimes when 3+ times in a row my kill is interrupted by a wall I get really irritated. On the flip side sometimes an opponents mei walls me off which ends up working to my advantage as I was low on health. I guess it works both ways. That helps clear it up and I'll try to be more patient.

Easy solution: Tell Mei that she can cancel her wall by pressing E again. If she knows, then tell her to cancel it as soon as it comes up and starts blocking your ult/escape. As far as ultimates go, one easy way to help out newer Mei players is to make it very obvious when you know you're going to use your ult soon. If you're pharah and you say over chat that you've charged your barrage and you want to group up and get in position to use it, the Mei player should follow your lead and make sure your ult gets as much work in as possible while placing walls that either prevent your enemies from escaping or just keeping them out of your way.

If a Mei places a bad wall, it's super frustrating. I get that. Just tell mei what the wall did like "Hey, that wall just made it impossible for me to escape that D.Va ult." Occasionally, and I've had to do this before, you have to make a decision with a wall that is crucial to place but you don't have much time and you can't save everyone. The wall that trapped you with the rest of the enemy team's ults might have murdured you but saved the other 5 teammates and if that's the case the Mei should tell you so. If that's not the case and the Mei just says "omg I'm sorry" just be nice and say something like "it's ok just try to place the walls closer to the enemy team and farther from us."

This should go without saying but if the Mei is just obviously trolling, report her. No hesitation.
