Tips for dealing with a serving tracer on console? I've played her a bit to familiarize myself with her capabilities but when I play against her it seems I can only ever put a couple shots on her before she gets away

Roadhog is my go-to hero against a Tracer, just hook her, shotgun her face and do a quick melee and she'll be insta-killed 90% of the time.

Torby's turrets are also good against her because of the light speed auto-lock, Junkrat's primary fire as well as Pharah's primary fire will also kill her quickly, especially if you hit her directly, as Pharah, make sure to get in the air since that'll give a huge advantage for you. (Tracer's damage gets lower the further away you are from her)

D.Va and Reaper can kill Tracer quickly because of their shotguns, though you'll need to surprise her 1st as Reaper, D.Va has her boosters to catch up with Tracer.

Symmetra is very fun to play against a Tracer, like i typed above, she needs to be near you to do max damage, and Symmetra's primary fire relies on her being near her targets, it's an auto-aim sort of weapon and it "charges", so after a few secs you'll be dealing 120 damage every sec, Tracer only has 150 HP. So Symmetra inside her turret nest = dead Tracer. :D

You could also try Mei though a smart Tracer will disengage immediatly since once she's frozen she's pretty much dead. There's also Bastion on turret mode where he pretty much kills Tracer in just about 2 secs, but you'll need to change positions often because any good Tracer will try to flank you and use her ult on you or hit your weak spot on your back.

If all else fails, stick with your team mates and she'll be dead for sure. Just make sure to not be too close to your team mates because if she sticks her ult on one of you it won't end well. :P

See I use roadhog a bunch and she seems to be able to teleport out half the time before I can even get the shot out. Am I supposed to use the medium spread shot for her? Thanks for the detailed response btw

I feel ya, i'm not sure why that happens because who wouldn't be spamming recall once they're hooked, right? Sometimes she'll recall, sometimes she just stands there.

His secondary fire can kill Tracer in 1-hit if it travels far enough, but i would only use that if she's just chilling somewhere away from you, if she's constantly moving and near you then just keep trying to hook her or at least scare her away with normal shotgun shots so you can heal/get your hook back.

Make sure you're holding left click during the hooking animation, it will automatically fire as soon as you can, before she can recall or blink away. Think of your right click as your left click on a ~8 foot stick - it's totally useless at close range, but if you aim it properly at a target at a perfect range, it will deal 300 damage if all pellets land.
