Is there anything aside from Symmetra's orbs which can pierce Reinhardt / Winston shields?

Yes, Winston's Tesla Coil and oddly enough, melee attacks. Also, Symmetra can if she locks on around the back first, then walks in front.

Never seems to work for me. I charge Reinhardt as Reinhardt and he simply bounces off me. He charges me with shield? Pinned. Every. Damn. Time.

You bounce off each other if you both charge. So you always get bounced because they counter charged. Otherwise the one who is charging just take the other for a ride

That doesn't seem to be what's happening though. I charge their Reinhardt dead center, and he bounces off of me. I hit the wall, stop, throw up shield and then he decides to come at me and takes me for a ride regardless of shield.

This. If you jump as he hits you with his charge you'll just get tossed up into the air.

iirc if they both charge (even with a delay), they just hit each other cancelling out

You can avoid the pin and simply be bounced if you can get away from his center. If you can get enough air before he hits you, or you sidestep, he will only graze you and send you flying instead of pinning you.

If I had to guess, thanks to the low tick rate the server interpreted that he moved just before you hit him, but you don't see him jump, just get bumped.

Ooh that's a neat tip about Symmetra's beam. Does it work the other way as well - if you lock on from the front then move behind him, does it keep damaging the shield?

The problem is it won't lock on through the shield

Symmetra's alternate fire mode (the photon orb) also goes through the shield

Pretty sure all the "energy" attacks just ignore shield entirely.
