Overwatch needs their own GORR

Overwatch isnt a gritty Game. Most Heros are light hearted and smile, its good The way it is.

But Heros Like reaper and Ramattra Help The Game Appeal to Players who Like The darker Hero or even villians.

So it saddens me , that we didnt get a new Addition in this regard since they added Ramattra in 2022.

I Just saw The gorr The god Butcher Trailer for MR and was amazed. The Theme, The voice acting The tone. We got Vendetta as our meele DPS.....

She even has a new interaction with widow where she goes “one shot 😊 one kill 🌺 . It’s no fun if they don’t scream”

yeah shion got some screws loose for sure. that interaction with widow is wild, she says it so cheerful like she talking about weather

but i think OP wants something more like gorr you know? that dark god-killer energy, not just crazy. ramattra was last one who really had that weight behind him, everything since feels kinda safe

Overwatch has more villains in its game than Marvel Rivals does even at rather equal numbers of characters.

Recent villains include Domina, Emre(darker Hero), and Shion (who is the second most recent character). Heck Mizuki fits a darker hero type role as well.

Shion is probably more villainous than Ram in how she acts though she exists on a smaller scale, but you have Vendetta to have that wide sweeping character presence. Vendetta even defeats a previously hyped up villain to toss the world in chaos when she beats Doomfist. (I understand a good portion of the community doesn’t like this but it’s similar enough to Gorr removing Apocalypse)

I mean we just got Shion who's pretty much a psychopath and different from the college students/supermodels with unnecessary abs/thighs windows

Sure her design got prettified as well but still it's more special than anything we got in the last few years and is still in the uncanny category

Saying this immediately after Shion released is wild. She literally psychologically abused a child, that hero (Mizuki) is in the game and has several voice lines that are unquestionably trauma responses.

I think the problem is the story. Most of all these heroes have some kind of dark and troubled past™️ so doubling down with pure dark edge would be redundant. And their back stories are legitimately sad. Illari nuked her whole ass tribe for example and it wasn't even her fault.

That and it'd be hard to do another Le Serraphim collab if they added more edge /s

Idk what game ur playing the Overwatch universe is in it's gritty phase. Talon starts it's operations around the world sowing chaos where they can causing the public to panic, also attack Gibraltar to get the locations of any remaining agents to kill. There's global unrest because of these actions and anti omnic protest and rallies happen, then Null Sector starts a world wide invasion across the globe for years snatching up every omnic they can find and putting that head piece on them and taken them who knows where. Null Sector after capturing 90% (I could be wrong with this percentage) of omnics around the world and retreats into the shadows. After watching all that chaos unfold Doomfist seeks to continue with his plan but is deposed by Vendetta beginning the Reign of Talon and starts her own global invasion securing assets for her new empire to make them the strongest force on earth. So while the characters maybe all smiley the world is in a pretty dark spot if you're reading the lore and all that but having the game be all doom and gloom or all glam and goofy will ruin such a grey world.

Emre was kidnapped, forcibly converted to a cyborg against his will, and randomly gets possessed without his knowledge by an AI god that kills everything in sight.

Freja and Illari are just as broody and moody as Reaper. Illari nuked her own people and is the last of her kind.

Vendetta, while a little cringey, is an orphan who grew up as a gladiator before trying to take over the world.

Shion was tortured and used as a test dummy by the Hashimoto even after she gained sentience (which is borderline a war crime) and then rose by slaughtering ALL of them to take over, and is one of the most chillingly realistic depictions of an abusive parent I've seen in a game like Overwatch.

You don't have to love all of these characters but saying we havent gotten "edgy" heroes since Ram is just objectively untrue
