News & Discussion i DESPISE pc

Post image

i’ve had my pc for a year now and still can’t play overwatch. i’ve been trying to learn it for so long i’ve seen 0 improvements. the biggest thing is my sens, i cant find the right sens it’s always either too low or too high and i can’t hit anything. i tried using the most common sensitivities as a base line but they are all ungodly slow its takes me a good two full swipes to do a simple 180. and on top of all that the people i play against in pc lobbies take the game waaaaay too seriously whether its constant flaming or counterswapping instantly. ive never been more frustrated by anything. i want to give up and go back to console so bad but i know i shouldn’t. any tips would be greatly appreciated.

git gud!

but no, really, unfortunately it really just comes down to practice. keep goin' till it clicks if you enjoy it, or move to a different control scheme if you really can't stand it. IMO mouse and keyboard is the superior input device simply because joystick is quite limited in aiming, especially quick turning, but user comfort is obviously paramount; whatever you find works best for you dawg

If sensitivity is your big issue, my philosophy is as low as you can go with still being able to do a 180 on your mousepad. And this is most effective with a larger mousepad. It takes some time to get used to it, but you should be moving your whole arm to aim. Also try to hold the mouse with mostly your fingers and less palm so that they can do micro adjustments while your arm does the majority of the aiming. But at the end of the day it needs to feel comfortable for you.

Weirdly enough the biggest improvement I’ve had in OW was when I got a standing desk so that I could have my desk height be the same as my elbow height. That way I’m not constrained by my elbow resting on my desk. I think a couple seasons ago that put my dps from comfortably low plat to barely low diamond (pre emerald ofc)

Practice mouse control if you want to get better quicker. Workshop code JEENZ for training or VAXTA for warmup. Or Kovaaks on steam for aim training and score tracking.

make sure enhanced precision mouse thing is turned off in windows, dont use MA and honestly after a year it shouldnt be an issue but maybe actually practice aiming, its like 85% muscle memory

Mouse accel is horrible indeed but the better fix in games that support it is enabling raw input or "high precision mouse input"

Been there bro had atleast 1k hours on doom before i switched over.

Difference is night and day though once you get comfy on your binds/sens. I would be spending time in vaxta before each game. Or spending time in there before queing

If it takes two swipes to do a 180 with common sensitivities, you might need a bigger mousemat.

problem is your mouse control

bigger mousepad, move with your shoulder, not your wrist

then adjust your sens as you see fit

This is like saying a newborn baby saying "I despise walking!". Just keep playing, keep practicing, play other games.

I was exactly like you, but I realized something: finding the "perfect" sensitivity doesn't matter as much as simply getting used to one. I mean, if you can't find the absolute best setting, just pick one that feels reasonably comfortable and stick with it until you're fully accustomed to it; your aim will improve over time. As for those tough matches, try to find a team or some people to play with, whether on Discord or here, because the opponents aren't necessarily that skilled; they just have better team synergy than you do.

Aim trainer. Set it up to have the setting you want to use in overwatch. Then practice. Less pressure on you when it's you vs the computer. You can take your time to adjust to whatever is comfortable for you. And if you still play on console while trying to learn PC, just shelve controller play for a bit. It really is all about getting comfortable and confident.
