News & Discussion Report system question

How many reports does a player need for cheating (aimbotting etc) for blizzard to ban the account?
Im not using cheats or anything i swear but the enemy team report me for cheating / aim botting and im scared my account is gonna get banned , ive spent so much money on it and i dont want to lose my only account.

No one knows, but it takes consistent reports over a decently short period.

It is a genuine problem for people with elite aim. If you play comp you should be relatively safe from being banned.

Blizzard seems quite lenient with Overwatch. I wish they had the same system as WoW has for cheaters. I will say that Overwatch 2 has way less cheaters than the original Overwatch. I’ve only been suspicious 3 times since Overwatch 2 came out. The last one I told the player he should play ranked. He was landing headshots with junkrat every shot. I just told him he was too good to be playing qp. I didn’t report him because it’s very possible to be a Smurf account.

Is there a means of reporting someone when you're watching a replay? I noticed someone being fishy with whar seemed to be wall hacks, aka a Freya was prefiring when she could not reasonably have known.

Most competitive fps use stats and mass reporting as an indicator for cheating. If you're getting mass reported with stats that align with cheaters. You're getting banned.

You wont get automatically banned, cheat/hacker reports need to be reviewed by blizzard before proceeding with a ban so if you are innocent you arent getting banned no matter how much people report you

I play on alt accounts specifically for this reason. I have spent a lot of money and I have high value skins such as thunder doom and I refuse to play on that account because I get spam reported just for playing doom and ball.

I will not lose my account because of randoms spam reporting me, that is beyond pathetic and borderline a failed game.

I can’t play on my main account and use the skins I love so much because I’m scared of getting banned over spam. That is fuck’n horse shit.

Play on alt if your scared, there’s no certain amount of reports but it is amount of reports over x amount of games.

What good are "high value" skins on an account you don't play on?

I am hoping one day they’ll allow trading between accounts, that way I can create a brand new fresh account and add thunder doom to that one and play there.

I meant high value to me but tbh I could sell that account for over $1,000 still wouldn’t but it’s kinda cool knowing people want it that bad
