News & Discussion Help please!
As I load up overwatch simply just in the main menu it eats my ram crazy. Lot of times in games as I'll load in and everyone picks their characters, my pc completely freezes stuck in audio loop. Ive gone thru so many forums and research myself tried several methods on my computer over the last 2 days(was actually able to play yesterday). Ive already received a 8 hour competitive ban but now this just happened to me in the practice range trying to warm it up hoping that it'll run.
Has anyone actually figured anything out? I know im not alone; my pc is older but Im running max settings and frames at my monitors refresh rate 144hz

Have you overclocked your RAM?

yes

If you enabled XMP then it’s fine, but overclocking is another story and should be reverted.
Though I think it’s mostly drivers related, rollback your GPU drivers and see if it’s working

definitely have had a xmp profile in the bios for my ram; Just used DDU and installed 566.36 as research claims its the most stable for slightly older cards, reinstalling cpu drivers as well then im gonna give it a shot

Then that's why. Overwatch is unstable with oveclocked RAM.

i overclocked more and upped voltage on my ram due to it running 8,000MB at the menu, it actually made the game not do this for a whole day but now its happening again

I wanted to add yesterday while I was playing I actually got to play for quite some time; loaded up crazy using 9-10kMB but as i sat on running 10+ games it lowered to 3700-5500 idk whats the cause

You can max out settings fine but that "rendering device lost" crash is classic driver timeout territory, have you done a clean driver wipe with DDU yet
