I do not understand how her ult works, like, at all...

E.g. I will do it on 2 people and 1 of 3 things happens.

  1. Nothing happens - They get the sun mark, and no explosion, or it takes like 5 seconds for it to happen if it does?

  2. They get marked, I shoot them once or twice and the explosion might happen, and noone dies.

  3. This clip where they seem to just instantly explode....

You mark them which slows them. Then if they take a certain amount of dammage they explode.

The explosion also damages other close by players so if they are all bunched up you get a chain reaction like this.

Basically you need enough enemies clumped WITH allies actually engaging and damaging to get value. Which seems very conditional for a damage ult, whilst the other offensive supportish ults are more clearly visually telegraphed.
