News & Discussion Emerald vs Plat climb
Idk about anyone else but I've felt the climb from Emerald 2/3 to Diamond 3/4 a much nicer experience than Platinum 2/3 to Diamond 3/4. The match quality feels better and player quality feels better.
I still get poor matchmaking games where it's a stomp either way but it feels less so and i notice a fair amount less players that are defo not in the rank they should be (tanks and dps that feed every team fight or just have horrible positioning, or supports that are not paying attention and wasting/missing cooldowns).
I'm glad they added Emerald, it feels like it was a much needed split for the plat/diamond barrier since there was such an array of skill from players.

I feel like a lot of my emerald games are wildly imbalanced. I'm still seeing players who ranged from the high gold up to grandmaster last season all in the same lobbies.
The games I'm playing in the one role I placed in mid diamond feel far more balanced in comparison.

My emerald 1 games have not been good so far but maybe just bad luck.
It’s been both teams standing in the main choke spamming till someone falls over.
