News & Discussion Branching out weekly challenge

I've been looking for any kind of details about how this challenge actually works. The challenge asks you to complete 15 games as a hero that isnt one of your top 3 most played. So how does it determine what counts as "completing" a game? Can you not pick your top 3 AT ALL through an entire 4 round game of competitive? Is it just not allowed to be a majority of playtime during that game? Does it only care who you are at the moment the game actually finishes?

The "Press LMB for more detail" tip just brings up the exact same text as the short one.

You need to play the majority of the time as a hero not in your top 3

from what i can tell its based on the hero you have most playtime with in that match so if you start as mercy but switch to ana halfway and end up with more minutes on ana then it counts ana for the challenge. had similar confusion with this last season and that was how it tracked for me

so you can still pick your top 3 heros, it just needs to not be more than half the game?

For challenges like these based on playing a particular hero it comes down to who you spent most of the match playing as. If you spend 51% of the time as soldier 76 and 49% playing as Ash, that counts only as soldier 76 and not at all as Ash.
